What is your character’s weaknesses? Hubris? Pride? Controlling?

@comiitatus       melissa is very stubborn and prideful,   that’s for damn sure.    she’s worked SO HARD to get where she is,   and doesn’t want to accept help from anyone if she can help it.    she got herself through high school with high marks,   then ended up in college for nursing school.   even though she got married and pregnant with scott fairly young,   that didn’t mean she was going to quit school.   she kept going,   worked her ASS OFF,   and became a really wonderful nurse.   in truth,   she’s smart enough to be a doctor,   but the only person she’d willingly sacrifice that for is SCOTT.    anyway,   she works hard for what she has.   melissa knows it’s not perfect,   and there have been money issues,   but she’s always tried to instill into scott that things don’t come easily and if you want something,   you get a job and you work for it.   this is something that’s been made more    COMPLICATED    with chris around   -   he has a disposable income,   more than hers,   and he wants to spoil her make life easier for her and her son.    some of it she accepts,   while other stuff it’s gotta be half.    he’s facing an uphill battle,   but as long as he lets her WORK and pay half the bills / half a new mortgage,   if they get a new house together,   she’ll be happy.    so pride and stubbornness are her downfalls.    once she’s got her mind stuck on something,   she’s going for it no matter what.
