The Big Picture is a photo blog produced by a select group of picture editors of The Boston Globe. The majority of the images come from wire services such as the Associated Press, Reuters, and Getty Images, who license them to The Boston Globe for our use. Other photos come from public domain sources such as NASA, and others from private photographers who share them with the Big Picture for one-time use. Entries are posted every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The Big Picture is intended to highlight high-quality, amazing imagery, with a focus on current events. For more information about The Big Picture, please review the About page at the Big Picture’s previous home on Boston.com.
