No but literally my main writing advice is to write in the style of your character's thoughts. And all my characters are autistic or have adhd soooo yes I'm gonna put comma everywhere, no a semicolon is not appropriate because the proposition are inherently linked and do not work individually, they leads to one another. They form a whole.
(I am not planning of doing a linguistics degree but right now I really want to, just to write about how neurodivergent people use comma).
Who the fuck made comma splice a thing?? No one's going to tell me how i do my writting, especially not a dead fucko that lived four thousand years ago. What? youre mad that im making you stop every two words? Grow, the fuck up
What’s Up with Comma Splices?
A comma splice is a grammar error that is created by joining two independent clauses (complete sentences) with a comma. It is one of the most common grammar mistakes; if you pay attention, you’ll encounter dozens of them each day.
Since we have two complete sentences, we would form a comma splice if we combined them by using just a comma:
We see comma splices everywhere, and it’s unfortunate that people don’t know how to correct them.
💁🏻 Here is an easy way to correct a comma splice:
❗️ There is another way to fix comma splices: use the “FANBOYS”:
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE: If the sentences are short, the comma before each FANBOYS is optional. However, on the SAT and ACT exams, they ALWAYS require a comma.
The technical name for the FANBOYS is coordinating conjunction. The term itself isn’t important; what actually matters is the role that coordinating conjunctions play. So let’s take a random comma splice and fix it by using one of the FANBOYS:
The sentence is now correct. On standardized tests, comma splices are quite common. Placing one of the FANBOYS between the two independent clauses (i.e., complete sentences) solves this problem.
💁🏻♂️ Just be sure to pick the one that makes the most logical sense. (For instance, there is a big difference between “but” and “and,” so you have to pick the right word.)
Sometimes I awake in utter terror that my college intermediate fiction professor is gonna read my writing and yell at me about the comma splices.
I have a lot of rage and hatred inside of me but that's ok, I will let it fuel me. Spite is a great motivator.
For real though, I feel so much hatred that it's incompatible with society. I don't take my anger out on others but genuinely the misanthropy is at 10 billion, it makes me want to never interact with anyone again xD Social death or whatever xD
Self-editing part one - 7 easy-to-remember rules of punctuation #writing
Many authors are just starting out in the craft and have never written anything longer than a memo or a social-media post before the novel they just finished. Once their manuscript is revised to their satisfaction, they might try to self-edit it rather than hire a freelance editor. This can work if they took writing courses or had an education that included creative writing. But I don’t recommend…

Id like to propose the double comma as an official new form of punctuation that you can just toss in there,, whenever you feel like a sentence needs a fun lil pause. It’s for people who like to have more unnecessary commas.
