Viral needed a moment to think.
He knew what was about to go down in the next couple days. He was getting Tsuuma off of this ship, finally, but in the hardest and least desirable way he could. But his back was against the wall, out of options. He leaned his head back against the metal interior of the ship, the coolness of it feeling nice against the nervous warmth of his body.
He’d never stayed on Dai-Gunzan this long, at least not while Kittan was in control. It had been quite a bit of time, only leaving once or twice to do the “king’s” errands. Everything else had been planning with Tsuuma and staying close to her side, making sure that nothing happened to her anymore. He didn’t know how Kittan felt about him hanging around, but if he had any major qualms he never vocalized them. Tsuuma had been taking a much needed rest, and Viral, unable to sleep here, wandered the halls aimlessly. Bags under his eyes were becoming increasingly noticable, a fact that Tsuuma had been constantly pointing out, worried for his well being.
Glancing around, he seemed to have ended up somewhere much nicer than the rest of this hell hole. At least, it seemed like someone had actually tried to keep it maintained. Was this Kittan’s main wing? It would make sense, high up, above everyone else. This was probably where his right hand people lived, if not himself.
Viral almost jumped out of his skin when he made contact with a pair of crimson eyes down the hall. He backed up a bit, pressing himself closer to the wall instinctively, and tried to resist the urge to bare his fangs. They didn’t seem like much of a threat, in fact, they really weren’t moving much either, as if he had also scared them as much as they scared him. After an uncomfortably long time of shared silence, Viral cleared his throat.
“What are you staring at, huh? It’s like you’ve never seen a beastman before.”
