OC Interview: Coriandus
Draw (or use an old drawing, don’t worry!) or take a screen of your character in an interview setting and make them answer the following questions!
“Ugh... Roxysis, I don’t want to do this!”
“C’mon, pleeeeaaasse. It’ll be fun!”
She groans and sits down.
INTRODUCTION
1. Can you introduce yourself?
“Fine. Coriandus, Commander of the Pact, Secondborn Sylvari, Champion of Aurene, various other titles I probably don’t know about.”
2. What is your gender identity, orientation and relationship status?
“I’m a woman, I’m a lesbian, and I’m married.” She smiles a bit at the mention of being married, but quickly catches herself and erases her expression.
3. Where and when were you born?
“I emerged from the Pale Tree with my brother, Roxysis, in 1304 AE at the cycle of Dawn.”
4. What is your weapon of choice and fighting style?
“I fight with my daggers or my pistols. I love being nimble and stealthy, it... comforts me. I like to be hidden.”
5. Lastly, are you happy?
She remains silent, hardening her gaze until the interviewer has to move on nervously.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS
1. What’s your family like? What is your relationship with them?
“I don’t have a blood related family, if that’s what you mean. I don’t consider the Pale Tree my mother- I’m not sure any of us do; not like humans, anyway. I have my wife, Caithe. Aurene, Roxysis, Nyxhalia, Trahearne.”
2. Have you ever run away from home?
She again remains silent, but this time provides an answer after a few minutes of awkward silence. “Yes.”
3. Would you consider marriage or having children?
“I am married. Children?” She blushes then. “Uh... I-I guess, maybe, since I raised Aurene... but I don’t know how Caithe would feel about it. And it’d have to be after we deal with all this bullshit in Tyria.”
4. Do you secretly hate one of your friends?
“No. They wouldn’t be my friend then.”
5. Which friend knows everything about you?
“I... Caithe, I suppose. Though she’s more than a friend, obviously.”
ASKED BY FANS
1. Are you literate? Have you been to school?
“Of course I’m literate! What’s wrong with you?”
2. The eeriest prediction you made that later came true?
“Probably that someone would die if we went after Balthazar and Kralkatorrik. Two people died. I’ll never forget that.”
“We came back!” Aurene and Roxysis shout from the back, and she sighs.
3. What is something you were embarrassingly late to realize?
She looks off in the direction of her and Caithe’s home, blushes a bit, and looks back at the interviewer. “Next question.”
4. Do you have mental health or physical issues?
"I’m missing my left arm. I have painful scars...” She purposely ignores the first half of the question.
5. What is your current main goal?
“I don’t really know. I’ve done everything I can. Zhaitan, Mordremoth, Scarlet, Balthazar, Kralkatorrik, Jormag, Primordus, Bangar, Ryland... I’ll just wait for what Taimi’s research brings up on the missing magic.”
CHOICES

"Don’t care.”
2. Cats or dogs?
"I love both, but sadly I have to choose... dragons. Aurene’s been by my side ever since she hatched... mostly. She hatched during...” She pauses. “Before me and Trahearne were rescued from Mordremoth.”

"Night owl.”
“To cuddle with her wife~” Roxysis teases.
“Will you get out of here?!”
4. Optimist or pessimist?
"I suppose people would call me pessimistic. I don’t... can’t have hope. Not after everything.” She looks at the ground.
5. Sassy or sarcastic?
"Sarcastic.”

1. Been caught sneaking out?
“No. And if I was, it was by Caithe.”
2. Broken a bone?
She remains silent. She looks like she’s remembering something. Better move on...
3. Received flowers?
She blushes. “Why do you care?”
4. Ghosted someone?
Again, silence.
5. Pretended to laugh at a joke you didn’t get?
“Okay, this is ridiculous.” She stands up and leaves at the protest of her brother.
