What'd you guys do for your birthday?
Kashi and I? Um. Hah. Wouldn’t you like to know…
Lunch in the castle courtyards was incredible, though! Allura had her chefs bake me a cake, and everyone was there to celebrate, even the apprentice Paladins. Altea’s gardens are beautiful, but their sunsets are even better. Yesterday was nothing but beautiful.

Oh, by the way—I turned 36 yesterday. It wasn’t my first birthday off-Earth, but it’s certainly been the best one so far.

Lol, Kashi won a $30 bet by backflipping at graduation. That’s it. He nailed it, everyone got hype, the end. I just giggle about it sometimes.

Okay, here’s the scene: Graduation after-party. Past midnight. Unholy amounts of alcohol.
Ron and Kashi have been buddy-buddy since sophomore year, so when the wine’s out, they are, too. They also both love a good party, which meant that I got dragged along to who know’s house almost immediately after receiving my diplomas. Granted, I did have a good time, but one thing led to another, and we all ended up playing Spin the Bottle, because that’s always a good idea (/s).
Ron landed on Kashi, and I fully expected him to pass, but he was piss-ass drunk, and instantly crawled into the circle to meet Ron in the middle and smash their faces together. Someone took a picture and it ended up on everyone’s phone the next morning, mine included. Ron says Kashi’s still the best kiss she’s ever had, which Kashi only ever shrugs at. We all might laugh about that night now, but he still gets all embarrassed and shy when someone mentions it. I think it’s cute.

So, when Kashi encounters a traditional hinge door, he doesn't open it by pushing his arm out while holding onto the handle. He grabs the handle, turns it, and then just continues walking. This means that sometimes, when he doesn't turn the handle far enough, and the latch doesn't release, he will fully biff his entire face and shoulder into the door. He just walks right into it.
The funniest example of this is when we were at the public community center downtown. It's of course been rebuilt and expanded since the war, but back when Kashi and I were dipshit teenagers, he and I would loiter around the small, dingy music spaces just to listen to the community choir and band while they practiced. One day, I managed to sneak into a practice room (someone left it unlocked), and Kashi followed me inside to watch me play piano--this way, I wouldn't be hogging my parents' piano. We eventually got caught, but we weren't in any real trouble considering that we were using the room for its intended purpose, so the center assistant just told us to leave. Kashi got right up to waltz on out, but he didn't push the handle down far enough, and he walked right into the heavy, sound-proof, metal door. I folded over laughing and he just pouted at me the entire walk back to his mom's apartment.
He just did it again with the front door about an hour ago. He's such a dreamboat.
