content for my silly king Cae? HELL YESS
nonchalant boyfriend creature
. . . synopsis: in which you easily melt caelus' faux nonchalance with your mere presence alone! . . . wc: 943 . . . notes: might be ooc, caelus is a whiny dorky loser in this one (all said with nothing but aggressive affection), genuinely down bad for his s/o, established relationship, reader is a tease, mild suggestiveness but it's fluffy overall. . . . mini reply: UFHAEFUJIGSJN I'm sorry that I never replied to this ohmg like all it has been doing is sitting in my inbox for well over a month or so uhhh !! ik you didn't ask for a caelus oneshot by any means but consider this a mini apology for my lack of response 🤔😵💫
“What’re you doing..?”
Caelus grumbles with a slight pout, his speech almost garbled with how you were smushing his cheeks against your hands like he was some little raccoon that needed to be taught a lesson. He must admit, the feeling of your warm and soothing palms pressing against his flushed cheeks was almost enough to render him a puddle of your soft and gooey affections.
No, he must stay focused and remain unbothered!
He has an image to upkeep. To remind you that he is not one to be trifled with under any circumstances, to remind you that he is unflappable and most definitely not a pushover!
But he wasn’t sure how long that faux bravado of his is going to stay upright with how he’s currently trapped in your soft and warm hands.
A soft, easy-going giggle slips past your lips upon seeing your boyfriend’s adorable little pout, the way his bottom lip jutted out slightly, making his cheeks all the more doughy and kneadable?? Aeons, does he know what effect he has on me?
“Mmh nothing,” You hum, causing Caelus’ eyes to narrow in suspicion, trying to look intimidating. Which only served to be against his favor with how he only seemed to be getting cuter by the minute. How can my boyfriend be this cute?? “Just admiring my boyfriend when he tries so hard to be something he’s not, it’s really adorable if i do say so myself.”
“Uhn!??!”
Caelus places his hands on top of your wrists and tries to pry himself away from your everso loving grip that he, internally, does not want to free himself from. He’ll gladly be a prisoner to your whims if it weren’t for the fact that his nonchalance was on the line.
He won’t tell you that though.
“No I’m not,” he whines, his voice wavering and raising a bit to the point of sounding pathetic. A burning sensation lines his now red hued ears, to the point that if you were to touch them a little sizzle could be heard, alongside steam pouring out from your fingertips. “I’m just..”
“Ugh..” He smushes his face against your palms, giving into his true feelings for a split moment. “I’m nonchalant…” He mumbles breathlessly into the comfort of your warm palms, trying to convince himself. “Can’t you see? I haven’t crumbled to your very mean way of trying to derail me— I remain standing!”
By those sheer words alone, you couldn’t tell if your boyfriend was trying to convince himself or if he wholeheartedly believed he was winning.
You assume the former.
“Is that so?” You croon softly, your voice dripping with slight mischief that made Caelus’ stomach do a few tricks, pulling at heartstrings he so believed were made out of steel— Set in its ways and unrelenting. You lean down, letting your breath fan the outer edge of his red hued ear in a teasing manner. “‘Cause I think your body is singing a whole different tune with how you’re acting like a meek raccoon in my hands.”
“And I didn’t do anything yet—”
“Yet?”
The flustered man gulps, his Adam's apple bobbing with each shaky breath that warmed your palms, his once defiant grip against your wrists now turning slack with each sly word that caressed his ears. He’s so stuck in your web.
And the worst part? He didn’t mind it.
And suddenly? That once nonchalant bravado was thrown out the window with how you were speaking to him in that downright sinful tone of yours.
And with that, without taking into consideration of your reaction, he practically pounced on you with whatever was left of his strength, ignoring the soft ‘oomph’ that left your lips as your back collided with the cushions. Small pillows that once adorned the couch were nothing but a second thought, scattered across the floor when faced with Caelus’ recklessness.
Even if he was technically the one in control, with his body smushed on top of yours, clothes to clothes, skin to skin— a tiny part of him knew very well that he was nothing more than a small puppy pawing at the floor, whining for any semblance of affection from the one he adores.
A breathless huff slips past your lips, but even then you still wrap your arms around his waist in your loose hold. “Seems like someone wants to get a bit handsy—”
“No…!!” Caelus whines against the curve of your shoulder, nuzzling his flushed cheek against the juncture between your shoulder and neck, eyes forcefully shut in an attempt to ground himself. “Your words they…” He gulps in-between shaky breaths, voice wobbly with unrestrained agitation. “They make me feel warm, okay?? I can’t help it!!”
You sigh. Part of you wanted to egg your sweet boyfriend on to see what other adorable reactions and sweet sounds you could elicit, but from how he was practically shaking like a leaf in your arms?? You couldn’t bring yourself to tease him further. Not if you wanted to risk him exploding on the spot.
“Shh shh, fine fine.” You give in softly, your voice taking on a warmer tone than usual. His breathing patterns slow in response to your soft croon. “No more teasing tonight.” You whisper against his gray strands, your fingers massaging the back of his head with tender care.
“I’ll take care of you.”
He curls up to your comfortable form, his eyes relaxing from their once forced muscle tension. “…Mphm.. Good.” He slurs against your skin, the tip of his nose stroking your shoulder in an attempt to lull himself to sleep.
“I’ll take your word for it.”
[UPDATED] [1] retail woes: 3 am rendezvous !
mini summary: unistudent!caelus was craving noodles and tried to buy them only for his card to decline w/c: 1.0k 3.0k !!! 7.7 edits: more content, grammar and punctuation fixes :) c/w: might be ooc, caelus is just a silly goober in this one (when is he not let's be honest with ourselves) reader is patient when dealing with caelus' shenanigans, caelus is broke as hell !! not even a credit to his name!!
It was one thing to crave ramen noodles, and there’s nothing inherently wrong with that. Cravings happen, they come and go, and sometimes? We can’t control the urge to set everything aside in order to quench it — Especially if one is a university student who cannot afford the luxury of eating at a cozy restaurant that serves a warm bowl of ramen at the ready.
Sometimes, one may resort to a measly cup of dense noodles in beat-up styrofoam.
But…
It’s another thing to get woken up in the middle of the night, sat up willingly even when his weary body yearned for the soft air mattress. And yet, his mind that never earned a wink of sleep had other plans. He held his head up high and blurted out in the void of nothingness he calls his room, “Hmmm, you know what?” he clicked his tongue, snapping his fingers while sporting a self-determined smirk that came before doing something inherently stupid in the dead of night—
He snatched his sneakers that had seen better days and jammed his socked feet into unlaced sneakers with chaotic flurry. There’s a 24-hour convenience store nearby… He shrugged as he grabbed his keys, jingling them around mindlessly before snatching his card on his way out of his messy shared dorm. It wouldn’t hurt to indulge myself once in a while.
And that’s exactly what Caelus did.
A few minutes later, he approached the 24-hour convenience with a determined look on his face. The flickering white and orange neon lights highlighting the 24-hour sign served as a much needed lighthouse in the midst of the young university student’s hunger. With no hesitation, he made his way in without much issue.
The bell chime echoed throughout the seemingly desolate convenience store, supposedly alerting the workers, if there were any, of Caelus’ arrival. “Weird…” he mutters, swishing his head around in search of a worker with a small puzzled frown. “... No one’s here from what I can see.” The sliding doors shut behind him with a delayed ‘swoosh’, allowing him to begin his miniature side quest of finding a pack of noodles.
Well. He cracked his knuckles. That makes looking for them a bit easier then!
Oh how he’ll bite his words later.
And with that, he began to survey the shelves like a little squirrel looking for remaining acorns before winter takes the wheel. His neck strained a bit from how he had to look up at the aisle signs continuously, all in hopes of finding that one aisle that’ll serve as a key to temporary happiness. And of course, the occasional head bob to “Sway to My Beat in Cosmos!” sifting through the low quality speakers — cracking and audibly buffering each time Robin decides to sing a bit higher than the speakers could withstand.
Yet, it didn't matter how many aisles Caelus darted in and out of, he still couldn’t find his go-to brand of noodles. No matter how many times he took out his phone and searched with squinted bleary eyes for the aisle number on the white screen — it was as if aisle numbers decided to grow a pair of legs and merge together in a messy blur. No matter how loud his stomach grumbled in protest to the lack of food in his system.. He still couldn’t find them.
And quite frankly, it was driving him up the wall. Maybe it was desperation and something beyond peckishness merging into one, clawing away at whatever is remaining of Caelus’ patience. Whatever it was, it was something he couldn't dismiss nor delay any longer.
Caelus groaned with each helpless step he took, each step turning more sluggish than the last. Thanks to his brain lagging behind at his stomach’s eagerness for savory gratification, he almost kissed the floor when a caution sign collided with his ribs. A minor, distressed sigh leaving his lips at both his recklessness and the temporary, stinging pain that came with the sudden collision.
“Maybe I should’ve waited till 7 am or something..” He bit the inside of his cheek out of habit whenever the reins slipped between his fingers, running his fingers through his now disheveled grey locks. Eyes darting from left to right with each step he took between the aisles.
Until.. Something caught his eye. Or in this case, someone. A faint silhouette of someone stocking shelves with a calmness Caelus lacks in general.
His eyes went visibly wide before resuming back to their original state. Is that..?? He shakes his head rapidly. Nah.. probably not, I’m probably imagining things again… Whatever his thoughts are, he ignored it in the meantime as he began to approach the figure with slow and measured steps. All in an attempt to not startle them with his current erratic behavior. Yet, as soon as he got closer to making out their once shadowy silhouette, Caelus was the one who got visibly startled instead.
(name)?!!?
Since when do they work here? I could’ve sworn they worked at a fast food chain?? Maybe I confused them with March—
His prolonged gawking was cut short with the way you began to wave your hand in front of his face. “Hm? Caeeeelusssss” you start, brows raised in bewilderment at his shocked state. You knew he had seen you on campus plenty of times! Hell, you literally sat next to him in the lecture halls! “Earth to Caelus!! You’re staring at me as if I grew two heads, which to be honest, sounds a lot like something you’d say just to grate my nerves.” And that was enough to lull Caelus out of la la land, now looking at you with a dazed expression, mouth slightly agape in a way that can be categorized as ‘dumb’. “...Huh?”
‘Huh?’
Really?
Caelus could’ve sworn he heard you let out that infamous, loud and prolonged resigned sigh of “oh my goodness gracious I don’t get paid enough to deal with this™”. To that, he couldn’t help but clear his throat and visibly shrink at his own stupidity. “Ah… sorry about that..” he laughed a bit, the sound airy and squeaky with how he scratched the back of his neck in hopes to salvage whatever is left of his pride.
He gave you a curious onceover, taking in your work attire and your nametag that’s barely hanging on to a tiny lump of fabric. Must’ve been working for awhile now, and to think I hadn’t noticed?? He tilted his head off to the side like a curious puppy, unknowingly causing you to crack a tiny smile at his innocent curiosity.
Too clueless.
“I didn’t think I would run into you like this…” he admits slowly, watching as you set the box of cereal away. “See… not that I mind!!! Totally not!! You see, I’m struggling to find a pack of my favorite noodles and I literally tried everything!!” Caelus exclaims, making a show of pulling his phone from his sweater pocket, pointing to it like it did him dirty. “And I mean everything! I went on the designated website and even then, I still couldn’t find it…” He pouts, unknowingly. “It’s genuinely driving me nuts (name), you don’t even know the beginning of it.”
“Ah… no wonder I heard all that distressed shuffling around aisle 8, I was at the neighboring aisle you know.” you chuckle, ignoring the surprised and almost offended look Caelus is giving you. Looking back, how he didn’t even notice you stocking shelves is beyond you. But, it’s Caelus. He has a one track mind most of the time, not that you could really say anything about it.
Whatever he was going through, he was DEFINITELY going through it. Seeing him so restless and uncharacteristically… impulsive? More than the usual? It was hard to dismiss the clear signs of his erratic state with how his fingers shook underneath the cuff of his slightly worn sleeves.
You couldn’t stand to see him this jittery any longer.
You sigh, instructing him to follow you with a single tilt of your head. “I’ll show you where it’s at,” you say, already walking away without making an effort of looking back — a tiny part of you knows he’d follow anyways, the sigh of relief that left his lips telling you everything you needed to know.
After hearing your words that served as an oasis in the middle of a desert, Caelus beamed without much thought. Genuine. “Ahhh (name), you’re literally my life saver!!” he says with an easy-going smile, following you with an eagerness that rivaled a raccoon’s desire to explore an unclaimed dumpster. “If only I had seen you earlier…” He murmurs, “I would’ve saved myself the physical and mental strain of looking for the two packs of noodles.” The two of you make a sudden stop, causing the university student to raise his eyebrow.
Wait… don’t tell me…
You hum at his confusion, giving him a tiny, patient smile before pointing to his favorite noodles. The same noodles he almost turned the entire convenience store upside down for. “Mhm.. would you look at that…” Caelus visibly gaped at the noodles, watching them with the same intensity he held when he thought Dan Heng betrayed him by leaving class a bit earlier than he usually does. “No way they were there the entire time, and I had walked past them like an idiot?!?” He grabs the two packs without a single thought for how desperate he looks, he just wants to eat. You press your lips together in mild embarrassment at his... innocent mistake. If you remembered correctly, it was still 3 am, so it's inevitable that a hiccup or two would occur wherever Caelus was concerned. "Um... Yes way...?" you say, your voice rising in pitch. You clear your throat awkwardly, trying to give him a way out. "... Do you want to check out now? Or—”
“Yes please!!” Caelus pipes up immediately, blinking rapidly in an attempt to sway you with his (totally ‘not’ adorable) puppy eyes. He didn’t know how much longer he could stand in this store without pulling his hair out. “I mean… yes…” he backtracks. Focus Caelus, Focus!! Don’t get too ahead of yourself! “...Please… check out for me! if you can, that is.”
Ah… great, just how could you say no to that silly face?
Without putting much of a fight, you lead him back to the front of the store; leaving behind the merchandise you have yet to stock on the shelves, alongside Robin’s singing through the cheap speakers that seem to distort her voice the more you listen to it — and perhaps Caelus’ desperation…
Hopefully.
By the time you got behind the cash register, Caelus wasted no time in placing the two packs of noodles on the conveyor belt, watching them slide on by with quiet hope in his eyes. All I have to do is pay up and I’m ready to feast!! “So…” he drums his fingers against his arm, his eyes settling on you handling the packs of noodles in your hands. “How much will it be?”
“1.50 Credits for both.” You answer simply, placing both packs in a plastic bag. Now gesturing to the scanner with an open, steady palm. “Cash or card?”
Huh.
Caelus blinks at you slowly before it finally dawns on him on what you’re asking him. He must admit, he was too busy with entertaining the tempting idea of savoring warm chicken broth to even comprehend your patient instructions. “Oh, uh… I’m using my card this time around!” He says after a moment of silence. “Give me a second… my sweater pockets are kinda deep.” His fingers began to dig into his sweater pocket, thrumming with barely concealed excitement at the notion of being able to finally sit at his dorm and simply... Munch.
“Found it!!!” He giggles, tapping away at the card obnoxiously out of habit.
You chuckle, feeling your shoulders ease up a bit at his unbridled happiness.. Or more accurately, his charming clumsiness. “Great! just tap here—”
“No biggie!! I got this in the bag!!—”
What follows next is enough to make someone want to retract into their shell and never crawl out.
And it all had to do with a card scanner simply delaying gratification.
A loud beeping erupts from the scanner. It sounded a lot like disapproval that lasted longer than it should’ve, the beeping serving as a siren that warned anyone and everyone within a 1 mile radius of Caelus' less than stellar financial state.
“Card declined.”
What.
Are you for real right now?
Caelus gaped at the scanner, then at your wide eyes, then back at the scanner. Absolutely dumbfounded as he was embarrassed beyond belief.
“Uhm… That… That—” He chokes out, shame threatening to erode whatever he has remaining of his pride at being publicly humiliated. “Must’ve been a mistake?? Right???” He squeaks out, tapping the back of his poor, worn out card like a madman who never knew when to surrender in a pointless fight. “C’mon… c’mon…”
Internally, you cringed at how the card scanner never seemed to let up, only giving Caelus the same ol’ ‘Card declined’ message. “Uhm.. Caelus..” You clear your throat in an attempt to redirect his attention, only for it to fall flat when he continues to slap his poor card against the scanner. “... No matter how many times you slap it, the payment isn’t going to go through—”
“—Man, this sucks!!!!” He groans, ignoring your puzzled expression like there was no tomorrow. He didn’t want to even look at your face, what if you’re judging him for his current financial struggle? Knowing you, that wasn’t the first thought that occurred in your mind. But… a little insecure part of him is intent on drowning his voice of reason. “I don’t even have spare Credits on me…” He scratches his head in contemplation, a mild frown tugging the corners of his lips down. “I should’ve listened to Dan Heng for once and brought some extra Credits to avoid moments as embarrassing as these…”
Oh no you don’t.
Unable to handle Caelus’ plight any longer, for it was paining you both emotionally and physically at how the card scanner seemed to be the only thing preventing him from enjoying noodles. “Man… just—” You sigh, making an effort to block a fruitless attempt of scanning by placing a firm hand in front of the scanner. Ignoring the distressed student’s blinks of surprise at your sudden intervention.
“Just take the noodles.”
“Huh??” Caelus visibly flinched, not out of fear. No, far from that. More so from.. Surprise. He couldn’t even count the times someone had gone out of their way to vouch for him, more specifically, a classmate?? A classmate who he fails to remember, who sat right beside him in the lecture halls??
Now it’s his turn to feel guilty.
“But…” he gulps, staring at you like you’ve suddenly grown two heads… with angel wings… and a halo. “Wait wait wait wait a minute… don’t— I mean— Well.. thank you! But wait.. Won’t you get in trouble?”
“Nah.”
You shove the paper bags in his clammy hands, you can easily pay off this small fee with a simple tap. “I’ll pay for the noodles later,” You say with a smile, waving your hand lackadaisically. Laid back in the name of potential questioning from your manager if they ever decide to watch the security footage. “It's not an issue at all! Besides, no one should be deprived of their late night cravings, am I right?”
“I guess…” He breathed out from his nose, shoulders now lax with the security that comes with being able to quench a late night craving; with the help of a now dear classmate of his of course. “But…” You nod, waiting for him to continue with the patience of a literal saint, and Caelus?? He was utterly weak when it came to sincerity as sweet as yours.
“Uhm…” he stammers, now suddenly tongue-tied when faced with your sudden generosity. His eyes twinkled with something akin to tears lining his waterline. “You know…” Caelus sniffles. “You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to—”
“Caelus…” He let out a quiet squeak in response to his name being called, feeling as though he was left bare to the elements. “Please, it’s on me. I wouldn’t say this out of the blue if I didn’t mean it.” You whisper, as if letting him in on a secret only struggling university students understood. “Allow me to help one struggling classmate to another, okay? Just this once!”
And with that, Caelus’ shoulders seemed to have relaxed significantly. Now at ease with the idea of you not viewing him through the lens of harsh judgement, but through relatability and sympathy. “Yes yes,” he agrees, his mood starting to pick up bit by bit.
I'll make it up to you later.. Once my numbers are in the green instead of the red.
“Well..” he nods his head in quiet gratitude, in which words fail to encapsulate. Clutching the bag of noodles with a new, profound sense of protectiveness and security. “I’ll see you in class tomorrow, okay?” He waves you off with a silly yet charming salute, eliciting a sleepy chuckle from you — causing Caelus to smile the sweetest smile, an endearing smile that can melt even the coldest and weary of hearts. “I won’t ever forget this!! I promise to make it up to you eventually~”
And with that, Caelus walked out of the 24-hour convenience store with not one, but two goals in mind:
1. Prep the delicious noodles and savor them like he has never savored noodles before.
And
2. Make it up to you via.. going to a local ramen restaurant?
Whatever the case may be, he’ll make it up to you one way or another. From one struggling university student to another.

Thoughts on caelus taking ugly pics of you?
I think he'd be the type to take those ugly pics when youre not looking especially when youre sleeping
And when he gets caught hes prob gonna keep going on how cute you look while you fight him to delete those pics lololol
OH HO HO HO HO CAELUS CONTENT LETS GO
LMAOOOOOOO he totally would do that. This man gives no fucks when it comes to candid pics of you, especially if you’re in a relationship.
OKAY OKAY so imagine you’d just be eating (snack or actual food doesn’t matter) and some of it starts spilling so you do that weird open-jaw thing to catch it and you see him holding his phone in the corner of your eye and laughing about it. He’d snort and turn it around to show you— because he’s definitely the type of person to make sure you saw it too— and then put it as his lock screen.
This man would NOT care if you’re mad about it. Even if you are, he’s only change your pic from the lock screen to the Home Screen background.
YES HE WOULD DO IT WHILE YOURE SLEEPING TOO. Oh you’re drooling? Photo. You snore with an open mouth? Photo. You sleep with your eyes open? Photo. You’re in those comfortable but weird looking positions? Photo.
HE’LL KEEP A FOLDER OF ALL OF YOUR UGLY PICS IN HIS PHONE AND THEN PLEAD FOR YOU NOT TO DELETE THEM. His excuse? It is absolutely the “Noooo! I love them! They’re so cute, it just shows that you trust me!” (PSSST even if you did delete the pics on his phone he has several Polaroids and/or physical copies hidden in his room that he loves to look at when you’re not there. You’re never truly getting rid of those things)
Yes, he is getting socked in the face by you. He loves it though, this man is right where he wants to be
*steals penny*
Hear me out we all have pupp phainon but what about puppy caelus :D
*Takes back penny* Thief 😾
Ooooo now this is a fun idea 😼 He would be absolutely rabid as a puppy-hybrid. Extremely hyper and annoying smh 🙄 Not to mention his non-human instincts… Yikes!!! Be prepared to not walking properly for a week! His stamina is out of this world unfortunately…
HOMESICK
⭒ Caelus x gn!reader ⭒
Summary: The Astral Express had been your home for a while. You slept alongside Caelus when suddenly, homesickness hit you. Caelus comforts you in his own way.
Warnings: No warnings!!
w/c: 970 words
loud notes: Ughh, this was just short of 1k, but I didn't know what else to do after! I still like this a lot, and I feel like Caelus deserves so much more love. He's so goofy.
The moon hung high in the sky, looming over the world below. A soft breeze shifted leaves on their branches, creating noise in the quiet night. The scent of pollen filled your nostrils, your body lying in a sea of flowers.
Night had always been your favourite. A time in the 24-hour cycle where the world grew eerily silent, as if no life had even existed in the first place. Where you didn’t have to fret over messing up or saying the wrong thing. Where you had the freedom to dance beneath the stars, to let the moonlight be your spotlight.
But even you knew that dream wouldn’t last forever.
When you opened your eyes, there was no morning sun to greet you, no birds chirping outside your window. Just the hollowness of deep, empty space staring back at you. You rolled onto your side, gazing out your window. The stars were there, but space had never settled well in your stomach. Now, you were on a train in space, trailblazing across the galaxy.
It was a dream, of course it was. A living dream that you got to have as your everyday life. Living on the Astral Express, being one of the Nameless. Travelling across the galaxy, visiting different planets. Though sometimes, homesickness creeps up on you. It just hits you, and when it hits, it hits you hard.
You could be going about your day, pouring a cup of coffee from a fresh pot, separate from Himeko’s monstrosities, when you think about the coffee shop you visited every Friday. It pools deep in your gut, making your throat and chest swell with emptiness. It’s like after that thought crosses your mind, you can’t breathe properly until it passes; whenever it does.
Caelus lay beside you, face nestled in the crook of your neck, arms encircled around your waist. From the way he was breathing against your neck, he was just pretending to be asleep. You don’t know when he woke up, but it was sometime recently.
“Caelus, I know you’re up. You don’t have to keep pretending,” you sighed, petting his hair. Caelus stubbornly kept his eyes shut but you knew he would crack soon. “Fine. Don’t respond to me. I’ll just go and eat the last of your cake in the fridge.”
“Not my cake!” Caelus shot up in bed, pouting dramatically, grabbing your shoulders and shaking you back and forth. “Anything but my cake!”
His cry was so loud that you had to physically slap your hand over his mouth to keep him from waking everybody else up. He looked at you behind hurt puppy dog eyes, acting like you just threw him into open space.
“Darling, I love you, but you need to be aware that there are many people here who would absolutely hate to be woken up right now. Even in another train car, we need to not be so noisy,” you scolded, pinching his nose. That made him gasp loudly. “Just lower your voice. That’s all I need you to do.”
“You’re always so mean to me,” Caelus grumbled, pushing your hand away from his mouth. “But I really don’t want to face March’s fury when if I interrupt her beauty sleep. Last time did not go well.”
“Yes, I heard of that. That is why I suggested why you should be more cautious,” you chuckled softly. “Now, can you let me roll over? I need your warmth.”
Caelus grinned like a kid getting the last piece of candy. He loosened his grip, letting you roll over in his arms, throwing his legs over your body. Most people said he was like a raccoon; you thought he was more like a koala.
“Wow. I’m just a heater to you, huh?” Caelus joked, wiggling his brows. “I think I’m so warm because of the Stellaron in my chest. It makes me super-heated!”
“That could be the case,” you agreed with a nod of your head. “Maybe we’ll get the answers to your strange phenomenon another day. I would prefer to just be held.”
Caelus made a knowing sound, resting his chin atop your head. “Missing home again?”
“I wouldn’t call it that much of a home anymore,” you mumbled. “I have my true home squeezing me to death right now.”
“Stop deflecting,” Caelus tutted, sliding his hand beneath your shirt, warming your skin. “I know you love me, but nothing could ever replace your planet. We both know how much it means to you.”
“I hate how well you know me,” you groan, voice muffled by your face being pressed into his chest.
“Deal with it.”
His thick arms tightened around your waist, his lips brushing your hair. His hand rubbed up and down your back, sending a shiver down your spine. You forgot just how comforting your boyfriend’s hugs were, especially when your mind was elsewhere. He made it easy to just focus on him instead of everything else.
You hadn’t realised when you started crying, your heart picking and your body shaking with your sobs. Caelus held you through it the entire time, holding off one of his stupid jokes that somehow always made you laugh. Even if he wanted to be silly right now, he couldn’t while you were crying in his arms, bestowing your trust in him to comfort you and love you even on your worst days.
And that’s what he did.
When your sobs began to fade, your shaking body easing into an occasional shuddered breath, he lifted his head, looking into your eyes. They were red and puffy, swollen so much that you could only open your eyes halfway. How much time had passed? You had no idea. All you knew was that he stayed.
Maybe, just maybe, Caelus could cure your homesickness. For Good.
