Elena’s response is pretty much that she’s confident in the fact that Josephine is in love with her and no one else would come between that unless there was something missing in the relationship for Josie. So, Elena would pretty much just try to make sure that Josie is happy and comfortable and that’s all that matters.
Whoever is trying to woo Josie is of no consequence as long as Elena makes sure that Josie is happy.
are they especially protective of certain inquisition members, even those capable of defending themselves?
Elena is a pretty protective person overall. I think tbh the only people she wouldn’t feel especially protective over in the Inquisition are Solas, Blackwall, Cullen and Vivienne. I think perhaps the only one of those in which it is different rather than just a failure to connect on that level is Vivienne, in which Elena just doesn’t feel protective because she believes that Vivienne is not in need of her protection. Also, she is keenly aware of the fact that they do like on opposing sides of an argument and despite the respect and somewhat friendship they have, there is that unspoken acknowledgement that they would both strive for what they want, even if those are two entirely different things.
