So I wrote a short little thing.

When Walda takes up with a game gone viral, Roose's initial irritation vanishes when he becomes addicted to game of his own, a more strategic game.
Thanks for the prompt @nimuelux!
Re the fic meme, I'd love to know about the Night's Queen.
6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics? It’s dark as hell? I normally write curtainfic or fluffy/cracky fic. Once in a while, I go angsty, but I have never gotten this dark, at least not for this fandom.
8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it?No. I did use an academic setting and I did create a Pinterest board for some of the locations and stuff, and here and there I used a real life place (e.g. the fountain in the mall is a real location), but there was nothing huge from my actual life.
13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn’t listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading?I didn’t listen to anything for this particular novel. It took me months to write. I tend to have the TV on, though, when I write. I was on a Psych kick for a while, I think. As for what to listen to, I really don’t have any ideas on that. Peter Gabriel’s “Intruder” on endless loop?
For the fic meme, Game of Stacks. #7,8,15
7:Where did the title comefrom?
Shelves in a library arecalled “stacks.” The story is mostly set in a library, hence the title.
8:Did any real people orevents inspire any part of it?
No, on the people. Mostof the library stuff was inspired by real life, just amped up or tamped downhere and there (when real life got a little too weird even for me).
15:What did you learn fromwriting this fic?
I learned that tagging is way more complicated than it seemsand can have a big impact on people taking a chance or not on your story.
If I had it to do over again, I would use a beta. Lookingback, there are parts where the scenes could have used some tightening and I’vespotted typos since.
But the big thing for me was learning that I was in factcapable of completing a novel.

For @jmeelee
My bad--I have just been informed I dedicated this to the wrong person!. Sorry @jmeelee
I was re-reading The Night's Queen and I wanted to tell you what a powerful, amazing story it still is. Any chance you'd ever develop it beyond fan-fiction?
Thank you :) That means a lot to me that you think it could have a life outside of fanfiction.
I’ve been debating about that, to be honest. The chief obstacle has to do with myths, because those run pretty heavily through the story and I’d need to find some comparable myths from our own world. But I’m giving it some thought.
