* INTRODUCING ... REC · IT · COLLECTION !
› what is it: ៸ rec it collection is a part book club - part writer appreciation collection created by me with hopes of engaging more with the fandom, expanding my reading history, and giving writers some well-earned love and attention to their works.
› how it starts: ៸ think about the fics you've read. is there one in particular that stands out to you? maybe it's a comfort fic or something you find yourself circling back to over and over again. maybe it lives rent free in your mind, and you can't seem to forget it no matter how many fics you've read since. maybe you think of it as one of the best things you've ever read. maybe it's wonderful but doesn't have nearly as much love as you believe it deserves. did something come to mind? yes? great! now grab the ao3 link for that fic, climb into my askbox, paste that link, and leave me a note about why you chose to send that fic specifically.
› what happens next: ៸ you've done your part, so sit back and relax. i'll take it from here! after you've sent in a fic, i'll give it a read and leave the author a little comment. then i'll circle back to your ask, add to your note— sharing my thoughts and what i liked about it so that we can discuss the fic —and then post it into the proper tags so that everyone else in the tags can have a chance to read the fic too! from there if you're interested, you're welcome to reply back, reblog the post, add your own thoughts or elaborate on mine, etc. that's the fun part of the book club aspect and if we're lucky, we may even make a writer's day in the process! how cool is that?
› what you can/can't do: ៸ in order to avoid absolute madness, unfortunately, there have to be a few rules to ensure that things are kept fun, safe, and fair for everyone involved— including me!
● { you can ... use anon to submit a fic. submit more than one fic, chapter fics, or fics that feature ocs. submit your own fic; i won't tell if you don't! submit a "popular"/well-known fic or a fic with a lot of kudos because this isn't a numbers game and is more about what you enjoyed reading to the point it stayed with you. add lengthy notes, bookmarks, thoughts, etc., in your ask for me. send a message if you're unsure about what to send in or have any questions about how this works! ● { you can't ... submit a fic that is not stranger things centric. use this as an opportunity to bash a fic or writer. submit x-reader fics, anything where b*lly is a part of the main focus/ship, or anything overly triggering/graphic that is not tagged accordingly, as I don't deserve to be blindsided or uncomfortable.
› additional information: ៸ 1) these will be done in the order they are received. this means that how many recs get done a week and how fast they are done will depend entirely on how much time I have that week and how long the fics sent in are. 2) while you are welcome to submit these recs anytime, depending on the number of fics I receive, they may likely be placed in the queue. this is to try and keep from clogging up the dashboard. 3) each response will be tagged using #comment collection. for safekeeping. 4) other than the above-mentioned, any ST characters or ships are welcome since this is all about branching out. 5) let's have fun!
