The first time you noticed Uzair was at your sister’s wedding.
He was standing a little away from the crowd. You were fifteen and he, somewhere around twenty. The wedding was full of moment. He noticed you before he knew your name.
You didn’t stand out the way people usually did, you weren’t loud, you weren’t demanding attention yet you were the only thing that made sense to him in the chaos. The way you smiled – warm and unguarded, lingering near your sister.
He watched you longer than he should have. Long enough for him to notice how you tucked your hair behind your ears when someone spoke to you, the little hand gestures you make while talking. How your face contorted with disgust after speaking with certain relatives.
When your gazes met he didn’t look away, like he should. Instead giving you a polite smile, enough to seem normal.
You smiled back.
And that’s it something settled in his mind.
The wedding ended and life returned to its usual self, everything was the same as before except now Ulfat is also a part of his life. Ulfat had become a motherly figure to him soon enough. He had immense respect for her. And without meaning to, he began to listen more carefully whenever she spoke about her family. Whenever she spoke about – you.
It wasn’t obvious, but just a passing curiosity. He found himself holding onto details that didn’t concern him, bits and pieces of information about you and each time he found himself craving for more.
The first time you came to visit your sister, along with your family to the haveli, was a year and half after the wedding when Rehman and Ulfat announced their pregnancy. Before that only your parents came to visit her or she would come to you. But this time you were here.
Uzair was in his room, he knew your parents would be over for lunch so he was just trying to hide away in his room. He was never really good with guests. But then he heard a new voice – your voice and something in him stilled.
He came out of his room, unhurriedly. You were sitting beside Ulfat, comfortably like you belong there.
For a brief moment your eyes met, recognition flickered through yours and you greet him shyly.
“Assalamualaikum.”
“Walaikum assalam”
You start visiting the haveli more after that, trying to help your sister with her pregnancy. It was a bit complicated so you even stayed over sometimes. You used to come over directly to the haveli after school. Even though your mother insisted you didn’t have to do all this, you were stubborn and wanted to look after your sister yourself. So naturally you were given your own room. You kept your spare clothes and books there.
Uzair had become a good friend in the meantime. Even though he was almost five years older than you, your relationship with him was cordial. He used to pick and drop you at your home whenever needed.
He became familiar – safe.
And that was the worst part.
One day he saw you talking to a boy around your age, when he came to pick you up at your house. Something stirred in Uzair, he did not like the way you were laughing with that boy, listening intently.
When you noticed Uzair had come, you bid a polite farewell to the boy and went towards the car Uzair was leaning against.
“Hello Uzair” you greet him.
He doesn’t greet back just gives a small nod.
After getting into the car, neither of you talk. Usually, he would start a conversation – asking you about small things, but today he stays quiet. You try to ignore it but the way he kept his jaw clenched bothered you.
“Uzair bhai, sab theek hai?”
“Haan…wo ladka kaun tha? Tumse baat kar raha tha” he asks
“wo pados mai rehta hai”
“Tum hasti hui lag rahi thi… kya baat ho rahi thi?”
“Kuch nahi, bas aisa hi…school ke baare mai”
“Hmm. Sambhal ke rehna, aaj kal ke ladko ki niyat achi nahi hoti”
You roll your eyes and before you could stop, you say “Aur tum kis purane zamane ke ho? Tumhari bhi niyat buri hai kya?”
He gives you a sharp look but doesn’t say anything. The rest of the ride continues in silence. As he stops the car in front of the Haveli, you open the door and get out but he calls out to you,
“Y/n”
You turn to him.
“Mujhe aur kabhi bhai mat bulana.”
You give a silent nod and got out of there, you didn’t think much about why he asked you to not address him that way.
Months passed by, your sister gave birth to a baby boy – Naieem. You spent even more time at the haveli, practically living there. You played with Naieem, took care of him and adored him like your own. Sometimes Uzair would join you whenever Rehman and Ulfat needed rest you two would look after the boy together.
Everything was going fine until your finals started nearing and you had to go back to your house as your school work began piling up.
“Mai koshish karungi lekin exams aa rahe hai, shayad exam ke baad hi time milega mujhe.” You say.
“Mai tumhe chor dunga tumhare ghar”
“okay”
You pack most of your belongings, but leave a few spare clothes here, just in case. You leave after bidding farewell to your sister and brother-in-law.
The haveli felt wrong without you.
Uzair had found himself listening for you, for the sound of your footsteps in the hallway or Ulfat calling out for you.
But it didn’t come.
That night he found himself standing outside your room, he stood there for a moment before pushing the door open. Your absence felt even heavier in the room.
His eyes moved across the room, falling on things you left behind. A couple of books on the table, a duppata draped across the chair, your hair tie near the dressing mirror. He took up your notebook, eyes scanning your handwriting, not really understand the words written in english.
His jaw tightened slightly, closing the book and putting it back in it’s place.
His gaze shifted to the cupboard, he hesitated but still opened it anyway. Your clothes neatly stacked.
He knew he shouldn’t be doing this, but he couldn’t help it.
He ran his fingers over your dresses before picking up a kurta, closing his eyes he brought it to his nose, taking in your faint scent that clung to the kurta.
But then he snapped to his senses, putting it away and closing the cupboard.
It was so wrong of him to invade your room this way in your absence.
He left the room.
But not before stealing the dupatta that was draped on the chair.
The haveli felt the same as you stepped in after weeks,
“Y/n!” Ulfat exclaimed upon seeing you.
“Aapi!” you say, crashing into her arms
“dekho kitni patli ho gayi ho, theek se khana nahi kha rahi thi kya?”
“Arey aapi, mai kha rahi thi lekin exam stress tha,”
“Koi baat nahi, ab tum yaha aaram se reh sakti ho”
“Rehman bhai kidar hai?” you ask
“Woh Uzair ke saath kam pe gaye hain, toda der lagega unhe aane mai.”
By the time Uzair had returned it was past midnight, as he entered inside he felt something different in the air, but he ignored it and decided to go to the terrace to smoke. He stood at the railing on the terrace overlooking the town, he held the cigarette between his lips and brought out the lighter to light it, when he felt a pair of hands over his eyes from behind.
Alarmed, he instinctively pulled away, cigarette falling away and turned around raising his fist to punch whoever it was, but stopped mid-way when he saw you. You had your hands raised in front of you, like you were shielding yourself.
“Y/n…” he murmurs, surprised.
“Uzair…” you say, your eyes wide.
He stares at you for few seconds, then clears his throat.
“Kab aayi?”
“Aaj dopahar ko… maaf karna mai tumhe surprise karne try kar rahi thi…”
“Arey mujhe maaf karna, maine haath uthaya tha tum par… khair chor do, abhi tak soyi kyu nahi? Bohut der ho gaya”
“Neend nahi aa rahi thi.”
There was a moment of silence between you.
“Tumhare imtihaan kaise gaye?” he asked.
“Thoda mushkil tha, lekin maine sambhal liya.”
“Sach bolu toh tumhare bina thoda adhoora lag raha tha…” he says
“Meri yaad aayi thi, hai na?” you say, wiggling your eyebrows.
He just chuckles lightly.
“Kal tum busy ho?” you ask
“thoda, kyu?”
“Agar tum free ho to kahi chale?”
“Kaha?”
“Hmm…mall chale?”
“Theek hai.”
You spend the rest of the days with him, going to – malls, movies, random short road trips or simply just hanging out with each other. He was so sweet, bringing you small gifts and naïve little you took them without thinking about why he was specifically being so attentive to you.
One day he took you to the beach, waves steadily rolling in brushing the shore before retreating back into the sea. You slipped your sandals off, holding them with one hand. Your feet sinking into the cool sand.
“Dheere se,” Uzair called out from behind you, “Phisal jaogi”
You roll your eyes and step closer to the water; you look at him with a mischievous glint in your eyes. You take a handful of the saltwater and splash at him in a flash.
The water hit him before he could react, soaking his shirt thoroughly. For a second he just stood there. Flabbergasted.
You bit back a laugh, already stepping away “Sorry – ”
“Sach main?” he said quietly.
You sprinted as he moved forward, but he was faster. In an instant he wrapped an arm around you from behind, making you squeak. He bent slightly and with his free hand scooped the water and splashed right in your face.
You gasped as the cold water hit you, “Uzair!” you squealed trying to wiggle out of his grip, but he just tightened his hold, holding you in place effortlessly.
A faint smile appeared on his face “Ab theek hai”
You tried to look offended but just burst out laughing which also made him chuckle lightly.
Your laughter died down when you realized his arm was still around you, and your faces where too close. Before you can move away, a strong wave rolled in. The force knocking both of you off your feet and you fell on top of Uzair.
And your lips met for a moment.
Your eyes widened and you pushed yourself off of him to not prolong it. Your cheeks were burning from embarrassment. Your heart was pounding in your ears.
You just picked yourself up and walked towards the jeep parked at a distance leaving Uzair, who was still lying on the sand trying to process what just happened.
Sitting in the jeep, you pulled your knees to your chest, burying your face into your hands. Suddenly you felt so stupid for splashing water at him. none of this would’ve happened if you weren’t so childish, how are you ever going to face him? but then again you were the one who immediately pulled away, would the kiss continue if you hadn’t pulled away?
The ride back home was awkward.
It was painfully weird.
You didn’t even look at each other.
The next few days even when Uzair tried to reach out to you, you avoided him like plague. You wanted to go back to your house but what reason would you tell your sister? So you stuck to your sister, never once leaving her. You did not want to be alone.
But one fine day he cornered you in a deserted hallway.
“Y/n”
You refused to look at him
“uss din jo bhi hua, uske liye maafi maang raha hu. Woh bas anjaane mein ho gaya… hum dono ki koi galti nahi thi.”
“Uz – ” he cuts you off,
“Darasal tumhe aur ek baat bhi batani hai. Mujh mein ab aur himmat nahi hai ke main ise apne andar daba kar rakhoon. Mein tumhe pasand karta hu y/n.” He says.
You’re shocked at the confession.
“mein tum par koi pressure nahi daal raha hu, agar tumhe bhi pasand hai toh achi baat hai, agar nahi toh bhi theek hain. Yeh joh maine bola hai woh bhool jao... Mujhe nahi chahiye ki iski wajah se humara dosti bigad jaye.”
“Uzair... Tum acha ladka ho lekin mujhe abhi yeh sab nahi chahiye. Main agle mahina Islamabad chala jaa rahi hun, abbu ne wahan ek degree college mein daakhila le liya hai.”
His face falls, “Oh.”
“haan, aur mujhe wahan hostel main rehna padega. Main batane waali thi tumhe lekin, uss din woh...ho gaya”
He looks even more disappointed at the fact you won’t be visiting much anymore.
“Koi baat nahi... Tumhare liye all the best. Shayad main hi zyada soch raha tha, lekin agar tumhara dil badle toh main yahi rahunga. Khuda hafiz” saying that he walked away.
Birthdays were never really a big thing for you, but since you were turning eighteen this time, Ulfat had insisted on a little celebration. She cooked your favourite dishes and decorated the living room a little.
A cake sat on the table – simple but warm in a way that made your chest feel lighter.
There wasn’t anyone else, just you, Ulfat, Rehman and Naieem who was perched on your lap, blabbering in his own language. Uzair was also present but he stood a little further away leaning against a pillar. When your eyes met his, he quickly looked away.
“Chalo, cut karo” Ulfat urged.
You smiled and nodded before blowing the candle and cutting the cake while Ulfat sang a ‘happy birthday’ song, Naieem clapping with his tiny hands.
“Happy birthday.”
You murmured a quiet “thank you,” feeding Ulfat first, then Rehman.
“Ruko zara” Rehman said as you were about to move away from the table. You turned to him, slightly confused.
He reaches into his pocket and pulls out an envelope.
“Yeh tumhare liye”
You hesitate a little before taking it, you opened it carefully peeking inside.
You looked up, “Yeh toh bohut hai…” you said softly.
“Toh?” he shrugged lightly.
“Le lo chup chap.” Ulfat said from the side.
After everything was done, you go looking for Uzair. He slipped away from the living room sometime during cake cutting.
As you go to the terrace, you find him sitting down, his back against the railing smoking a cigarette.
As soon as he hears your footsteps, he looks up at you crushing the cigarette on the floor.
You sit down beside him, close enough for your shoulders to brush.
You sit in silence until,
“Happy birthday y/n…” he mumbles.
“Thank you,” you say “Tum beech mein hi chale gaye the.”
He doesn’t say anything but reaches into his pocket, pulling out a small velvet box.
“tumhara gift” he says
You take it from his hands and open it to see, a thin silver chain with a swan pendant.
“It’s pretty. Thank you.” you say.
“hmm”
You look up and he’s already looking at you.
You bite your lip, “Mujhe pehna doge?” you ask.
You give him the chain and turn around, moving your hair to one side.
Your breath hitches as his fingers brush near your neck.
As he closed the clasp, you could feel his warm breath on your skin.
You feel your own heart racing at the closeness.
You turn your neck to look at him and he starts leaning in, his eyes darting towards your lips.
You close your eyes and start leaning in too.
Your lips meet his and he starts kissing you, you kiss back. The kiss was gentle and soft. Your lips moving in perfect sync. This was nothing like that one on the beach, this was completely different – intentional and more emotional.
You both pull away after a few seconds and he’s grinning like an idiot.
“Iska matlab… kya iska matlab, mai tumhe pasand hu?”
You let out a chuckle and say “Haan.”
The next three years passed quickly.
You stayed in Islamabad, adjusting to a new routine, to new people and new life. And somehow Uzair stayed throughout, through calls, messages and occasional visits. Though it was all kept a secret.
He was always there.
Whenever you were stressed before an exam – he would call, if you were upset he knew before you even said anything, if you needed something he would find a way to get it to you.
It felt comforting.
“tumne bataya nahi aaj late kyu ho gayi?” he asked once over a call
“Friends ke saath baahar gayi thi”
“Kaun?” he asked
“Classmates.”
“Naam?” he pushed further.
A beat of silence.
“Tum kya mere abbu ho?” you laughed it off.
He didn’t laugh.
“Main serious hoon. Koi ladke the?”
“Uzair ab yeh sab kyun pooch rahe ho?”
“Batao” his tone became even more firm.
“no, nahi the koi ladke. Khush?”
You heard him let out a sigh.
And the call continued after that, slipping into more light hearted things.
You brushed off the moment of uneasiness. You always did.
Another time you mentioned a classmate helping you with notes.
“Acha ladka hai” you said casually.
“Hm”
“Kaafi help karta hai”
He murmured something under his breath, you didn’t catch it properly.
“Kya?” you asked
“Kuch nahi.”
You didn’t push it.
And yet, he was the one who stayed with you through the nights you couldn’t sleep, the one who listened to things you never shared with anyone else. He was the one who said ‘main hoon na’. And for you that mattered more than the moments that didn’t sit right.
You came back after graduating.
Your families gathered at the haveli, to celebrate Eid together.
After dinner, your families were conversing – then it shifted almost naturally.
Ulfat was the first to say it,
“Waise ek baath soch rahe the, hum sab,” her eyes darting between you and Uzair with a small smile, “Agar y/n ko koi aitraaz nahi hai toh, Uzair se Rishta paka kare?”
Your heart skipped, you didn’t look at him.
Rehman spoke up, “Uzair acha ladka hai, aapke beti ko ache se khayal rakhega. Humare saath hi mehfooz rahegi.”
Your parents exchanged a glance.
Then your father spoke up, “Humari taraf se koi problem nahi, agar dono ko pasand hain toh…”
All eyes turned towards you.
You looked up at Uzair, he was already looking at you waiting for your answer.
“Haan…” you said softly, your voice barely above a whisper.
Everything moved in a blur after that, the elders discussing plans, arrangements and dates.
Later that night, when the house had quietened down you found him in the corridor. Like he had been waiting for you.
“Tumne kuch kaha nahi” you said softly.
“Zarurat nahi thi”
You frowned slightly, “Matlab?”
“Tumne haan keh di”
“Tumhe bhi apna opinion dena – ”
“Mujhe pata tha”
“Kya?”
“Ki tum haan bologi” he said with quiet confidence that made your chest feel a little tight.
“Khush ho?” you asked trying to lighten the moment.
“Hona chahiye?” he retorted.
You let out a small, nervous laugh, “Ajeeb sawal hai…”
But he didn’t even smile. He just came forward, wrapping an arm around you pulling you closer while tucking your hair strands behind your ear.
“Ab se tum sirf meri ho.” He whispered into your ear.
Everything progressed quickly even before you had the time to process it. Ulfat was everywhere, choosing your jewellery and outfits whilst taking care of the arrangements.
“Bas kuch hi dinon ki baat hai,” she would say, adjusting your dupatta, her eyes soft with happiness.
Uzair on the other hand remained silent. He would be there to look after things, sometimes you caught him watching you in the middle of the chaos. Observing you.
The nikkah was simple.
Sacred.
You sat with your gaze lowered, hands trembling slightly in your lap.
When the qazi asked for your consent, you paused for just a second. Then –
“Qubool hai”
Three times. And just like that everything changed.
The night of your wedding, you were sat in his room still in the heavy wedding lehenga . The room felt unfamiliar even though you had been here before – countless times. But tonight everything felt different.
You sat at the edge of your bed, hands clasped tightly in your lap. Your heartbeat loud in your ears.
Uzair stepped inside, closing the door behind him. He walked in slowly, his gaze settling on you.
“Dar lag raha hai?” he asked
You shook your head, “nahi...” but your voice gave away.
He noticed, stopping in front of you.
“Relax” he said quietly. His tone calm, almost reassuring.
He reached out, tilting your head up.
“Ab tum meri ho aur mei tumhara, hamesha ke liye.”
And he kissed your lips.
His hands moving towards the dupatta, removing the pins which held it in place, then moved towards your hair, undoing the elegant bun.
Pulling away from the kiss he pushed you back into the mattress, hovering above you. He kissed you again, with more ferocity this time. His hands roaming along your body, he pulled away to get rid of his sherwani.
You were about to remove your jewellery when he stopped you and pulled you onto your feet.
“Sab kuch utaro, apne zewarat ke alawa.” He said while sitting on the edge of the bed
You obliged shyly and started shedding all the layers until you were standing completely bare except for the jewellery he asked you to not remove.
“Idhar aao”
As soon as you went towards him, he pushed you back into the mattress again, hovering above you. He started kissing your jaw, making way to your neck.
“Aaaah – ” you moaned out. He sucked on the skin until he was sure you were marked.
He moved down towards the valley of your breasts. His hands moving to your boobs, squeezing and pinching your nipples. He continued kissing till he reached your navel.
He clasped his hands around your thighs, pushing them further apart revealing your glistening pussy. He brought two of his fingers towards your mouth and you started sucking on them.
Then he brought those fingers to run along your wet folds, parting them. He ran them up and down your slit before moving towards your clit and rubbing firm circles on it making you whimper. Your breasts heaving at the stimulation.
Then he replaced his fingers with his mouth, his lips clamping around your clit, sucking on it.
“Mmmmm” you moaned, grinding your hips against him but he placed his hands on your hips, holding you still. He started moving his tongue over your folds, running over your little hole.
Your fingers tangled in his hair, the sound of your bangles chiming reaching his ears.
“Uzair...” you moan as he slips two of his long fingers into your pussy, watching with quiet satisfaction as your pussy sucked them in. He finger fucked you while rubbing your clit with his thumb.
He clasps his mouth around your nipple, sucking on the sensitive bud.
It was all too much, your legs started trembling, your breathing became heavy. Your pussy clenching around his fingers. As he increased his pace you came around his fingers.
He moved from above you, you were still panting. Your eyes following his movements.
He discarded his boxers, his cock sprang out.
Your eyes widen at the sight of his long thick cock. You were expecting him to be big, but he still managed to surprise you. You weren’t sure if you could take it.
“Uzair, it’s too big...” you whimper.
“Daro mat y/n, tum mere liye bani ho. Tum le sakte ho.”
He runs his tip along your folds, your body jerking at the sensation.
He thrusts in without a warning, making you scream out at the burn. His girth completely stretching your little pussy. He groaned at the tightness.
He starts moving giving you no time to adjust. You held tightly onto his shoulder, your nails digging into his skin. Tears start pooling in your eyes.
“Uzair...dheere se...” You plead but he ignores continuing to thrust into your.
“tumhe pata bhi nahi,” he growled “ki kitna samay se intazaar kar raha hoon iske liye.”
“Uzair...”
“Jab se maine tumhe pehli dafa apne bhai ki shaadi mein dekha hai… tab se tum mera junoon ban gayi ho.”
You looked at his eyes properly for the first time since the night started. His eyes were dark with lust.
All of a sudden he flipped you onto your stomach, pushing your face into the pillow, muffling your moans, your ass up in the air. His hand clasped tight around your wrists, binding them together behind your back. Few of your glass bangles break at the impact.
Your gold jewellery digging into your chest.
His hand came down on your asscheek, your entire body jolting at the stinging sensation. He pushed back inside you, stretching you even more in this position.
He brought his hand on to your clit, while pumping in and out of you. He leaned over pecking your spine.
“tum sirf meri ho y/n... Tum par sirf mera haq hai.” He whispered into your ear.
His cock twitched in you, both of you hit your climax at the same time . Both of your juices mixing in your hot core.
And just like that you were bound to him for the rest of your life.
