Since Spring 2008, COMM Events has announced the Communication Studies Department Graduation Ceremony, which COMM students first organized and presented in Spring 1995. This year, our graduates will participate in the College of Social Sciences Commencement, Thursday, May 24, 9am, Avaya Stadium. Congratulations to the 2017-2018 graduates!

The COMM Central Network announced the launch of the COMM Career Portal just four years ago. Since then, the Portal has featured a wide range of internships and jobs for COMM students as well as practical tips and advice for the job search process. Are you looking for an internship? Meet and Greet with Hiring Managers by G.o.A.L

G.o.A.L, together with the SJSU Career Center, is hosting a Meet and Greet Hiring Managers Session. The purpose is to help students to practice interviewing skills and find suitable jobs. This two-part event comprises of a Live Mock Interview and a Meet and Greet with employers.

Six years ago COMM Events announced the opportunity for students to serve as facilitators in the Difficult Dialogues project with Professors Shawn Spano and Minna Holopainen. The campus dialogues brought together diverse constituents to discuss contentious topics. Professor Spano also facilitated the 2012 Global Dialogue Event on cultural diversity and complexity. Learn more about diversity at SJSU on COMM Central, which includes two articles on SJSU’s MOSAIC Cross Cultural Center. The Center provides support services and advocacy for students from historically underrepresented identity groups.

Happy 10 Years, COMM Events!   

Spring 2018 marks the 10-year anniversary of COMM Events!  Professor Stephanie Coopman launched COMM Events in January 2008 to keep  students up to date on campus and community events. Ten years ago the first  COMM Events promoted the department's study abroad programs in Bath, England,  and Uppsala, Sweden. Check out the department's current study abroad opportunities!
