Advanced Suicide Intervention Skills Training (A.S.I.S.T.) by SJSU CAPS

SJSU CAPS is providing one of the most extensive, evidence-based, and practical trainings in suicide and crisis intervention, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (A.S.I.S.T.).
A.S.I.S.T. is an internationally-recognized program and registered as one of the Best Practices. It might be helpful for your resume-building and professional development. Free and open to the SJSU community—students, staff, faculty, and SJSU stakeholders.
Date: May 29 (Tuesday) + May 30 (Wednesday) — You must attend both days.
Location: Student Wellness Center (SWC), Room 375
Time: 8:15am - 5:00pm
• Breaks:There will be an one hour lunch break. (Lunch on your own).
• There will be small (10 -15 minutes) breaks through the day.
Parking:
• SJSU students and faculty: the 7th Street garage is the closest parking place.
• SJSU Stakeholders: There is some free street parking on 11th and 12th Streets in the early morning. Check the signs on the street (many streets around SJSU need specific permit).
• The campus garage parking fee is $8 for one day.
Preparation/things to bring:
• Something for you to take notes.
• Water and snack to keep you fueled and awake.
Dress Code:
• Be comfortable for your learning experiences. (No swimming suit or PJs, though. The training room is pretty cold... )
