Check out this amazing house! The Commissariat House in St. John's was built in 1818 and was spared by the Great Fire because it was then located on the edge of town. The Commissary dealt with government contracts for provisioning the British forces, and was held by a civilian. The house has offices downstairs and the household upstairs (including the dining room!), and has been restored to its original furnishings. The museum is amazing and totally worth a visit!!
