It’s not uncommon for dandelions to blossom after the winter season ends, as nature’s love springs! #Love #Spring #Photography
Dandelion
More photos from the back yard. Fun fact: ants are actually occasional pollinators, though some ants secrete an antibiotic which can degrade pollen grains that stick to them.
Hello there! I have written a short story about a flower (a dandelion) and I have a question. Can a yellow dandelion wither or wilt out of dryness before it becomes the white puffball? A main part of my story is that the dandelion is sad because it doesn't get to be the wish granter to children for it will die before its time. Also, can I send you my story later on? It's very short about 3K words. Thank you in advance! <3
Yes and yes! If you pull a dandelion from the ground, you'll see it do just that. We spend a lot of time pulling common dandelions, because despite the fact that they're edible (and delicious!), the ones we see most frequently are nonnative in Washington State and bully our native plants in the garden. I used to bring dandelions from my garden to the chickens at my old work, who loved them!
