Common stingaree!

The species is aplacental viviparous, which means the developing babies are nourished by the “uterine milk” the mother produces! The common stingaree is the most common ray species in the coastal waters of eastern Australia.

"Whilst out snorkelling late one afternoon on Jervis Bay [in Australia], I stumbled across this Common Stingaree (Trygonoptera testacea) gracefully gliding over the shallow sand flats," says Your Shot photographer Jordan Robins. Common Stingaree, Trygonoptera testacea

Once again taken on a night dive at Camp Cove, Sydney. What I love most about this shot is the detail of its eye, it feels like it was bought from an arts and crafts store and stuck on.
