Commonwealth Game 2018:Nigeria wins 3 Gold Medals in weightlifting

Contesting in ongoing Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia the men’s lightweight final, Ezuruike became the first Nigerian to claim a gold medal at this year’s edition with a lift of 224.3kg.

I’m glad the countries competing in the Commonwealth Games have paid attention to the fact that they’re competing on the Gold Coast and dressed appropriately. (Hint: It’s hot and humid on the GC, especially by European standards, and they’re all wearing shorts and short-sleeved shirts).

And the orchestra is now playing Wa Wa Nee. Wow, they’re really digging out the Aussie music. Wa Wa Nee were big in the 80s. 

It’s always fun at the Comm Games because everyone competes in their own countries, rather then the larger group some of them do for the Olympics. For example, Great Britain does not compete at the Comm Games. Instead, England, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey and so on all complete individually.
