I decided to give my old profile a face lift and start posting about my plush restoration hijinks!
Up first is a personal plush I've had since I was a kid: A commonwealth unicorn.
It was quite dingy and yellowed and unfortunately a mouse chewed off part of the collar while it was in storage, so it needed some work.
In the washer are also other second hand plushies I picked up, destuffed and washed. You can really see how dirty the water is. This is why it's good to always wash second hand plushies. They might look pretty clean, but they probably aren't.
After a 5 hour presoak using 1:1:1 arm and hammer laundry booster, oxyclean and powdered tide, a run through the machine on a regular cycle with some of my usual detergent, 15 minutes in the dryer on air dry to get the stray fuzzies off and a fan aided air dry, my unicorn looks good as new! Just look at how clean she is compared to the first pic!
Others in the washing machine are set to be restuffed, weighted with flax seeds and rehomed.
