So yeah that episode of Community wasn't bad per se...

but I guess the only thing I could say was it was trying too hard. It pushed Abed's gimmick far too much, all the while making him inconsequential and this just felt jumbled and it seemed to have that problem Big Bang Theory does where stuff just ends and there's nothing you should ever ever take from Big Bang Theory. Ever. 

Also, Abed comes off as extremely selfish, whereas I didn't really find anything wrong with Jeff wanting to graduate and get back to his career.

Some stuff amused me, like Abed mentally casting somone else as Pearce and the Dean moving in next door to Jeff, but on the whole it just left me cold.

I mean, it's still better than BBT, How I Met Your Mother, or pretty much any sitcom out right now but I'm just hoping it's an initial episode slump.
