Funding Available for Housing Affordability
CommunityWINS Grants -- Deadline: October 9th, 2020
The U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) and Wells Fargo's CommunityWINS grant program is seeking applications to invest, strengthen, and address housing affordability issues. Grant funds may be used for transitional housing, rentals, and homeownership projects and programs that are innovative and replicable, display a Mayoral collaboration with a nonprofit to help strengthen the community, and able to be completed within their designated timeframe. CommunityWINS will award eight applicants, with two awards coming in each of the following population categories:
Metropolitan: Population greater than 500,000; the primary winner will be awarded $300,000 and the outstanding achievement winner will be awarded $100,000.
Large: Population between 275,000 and 500,000; the primary winner will be awarded $200,000 and the outstanding achievement winner will be awarded $75,000.
Medium: Population between 50,000 and 275,000; the primary winner will be awarded $150,000 and the outstanding achievement winner will be awarded $50,000.
Small: Population less than 50,000; the primary winner will be awarded $75,000 and the outstanding achievement winner will be awarded $50,000.
Eligible applicants of the program are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that have been nominated by their USCM member city Each city may nominate up to three (3) eligible nonprofit organizations. Mayors and nonprofits who received funding in 2019 are ineligible for funding in 2020.
The deadline for applications is October 9, 2020.
