Out of line story
Out of line means that a certain public utility vehicle is plying a route that is not designated to it. It is obvious illegal, but helps a lot, especially in the night. My entry tonight is about my commuting story about riding an out of line jeepney.
I was stuck this early evening in Philcoa while waiting for a jeepney going to San Mateo. I kept asking the jeepney drivers if I could just sit beside him with the spare tire on. They all refuse because it’s illegal, but I did this once in Cubao and it feels like you are also driving the jeep even if you are not maneuvering it. They probably let people do this when the policemen are not present, especially in the provinces.
After hailing other jeeps bound to San Mateo, I luckily found this chartreuse jeepney with plate number PWJ-428, with Cubao-Vito Cruz line. An old man is driving the jeep, while his wife is the backride, or the assistant. They were bound to Banaba because they are going to park the jeep there, but guess what ? They still let me in even if I’m going to Ampid in San Mateo. I just told the couple that I’m going to ride in their jeepney up to Banaba only, in front of Puregold. I still paid but they are so pleased that I became their passenger even if it’s time to park their ride home already.
The elderly couple also let an old woman ride up to Northview, in Batasan and a mother with her two teenage daughters, but they we’re given a chance only, so they rode for free.
The woman and her two daughters are so thankful to the old couple, even me, because they let me ride even if they are not holding a sign that says “BANABA PUREGOLD”,that’s why the owner of this particular jeepney who lives in San Mateo is lucky to have the old man as his or her driver.
God bless the driver and operator of Cubao-Vito Cruz jeepney, PWJ-428
FARE: UNFAIR
In our daily living, our mode of transportation is one of the things that dictates our mood. Whether we got stuck on a traffic or simple had a smooth ride on our way to work or home, it defines our daily mood. But what happens when one of the convenient, trusted and safe rides our citizens use are suspended, or worse gone? What would happen?
With the recent news of Uber being suspended, citizens are continuously ranting through every social media sites just to express themselves regarding the suspension of Uber in the Philippines. According to them it’s unfair that one of the convenient and safe companies when it comes to transportation is banned. What’s worse is that people are recommended to ride metered taxis around metro manila or just commute through fx’s or jeepneys. And with this suggestion, citizens went rapidly aggressive posting their side online. Saying that these metered taxis, fx’s or jeepneys are unfair when it comes to faring, doesn’t have a good attitude, and keeps on avoiding far routes causing them to waste more time.
One of the questions netizens ask, is why Uber the only suspended one? According to Rappler “Grab's accreditation expired last July and has not been renewed, but Grab has so far complied with the LTFRB's orders to stop accepting and accrediting new drivers – the rule that Uber supposedly violated. Grab also immediately submitted to the LTFRB its master list of peer drivers when the government board wanted to set a June 30 cutoff for drivers whose permits would be considered. Uber dilly-dallied, on the the other hand. In the aftermath of the suspension, Uber requested that the penalty be changed to a fine. The LTFRB will hear Uber's new request on August 23” Does Uber deserves the suspension they got? Some citizens says yes, while some no. Thinking that LTFRB is on the tail of Uber just to get the capital they get annually.

Finally got the chance to be in front of the BEEP (Bagong Jeep) today going to Gateway. Wait when there will be heaps of BEEPs coming this year ! It’s way better than the normal jeeps we all ride.
