Pro Blogger? coming right up
I'm going to share some life struggles with you. Job hunting and car searching or job searching and car hunting are not supposed to be simultaneous activities. You need a job to get a car, but you need a car to get a job. Its as tricky as the chicken and the egg.
Don't worry though, I found the solution. Make money while staying in the same place! (revolutionary, isn't it?) As a bonus, you save money on the gas you're not buying for the car you don't have. Brilliant! So what money-from-home possibilities are on my plate right now?
Blogging, obviously.
So I became interested in my readership stats.
Tumblr doesn't track the number of viewers that you get, so I installed google analytics on my blog. I would like to note that it involves html coding and editing screens that look like they came from a command center. Booyah! (Also, I would like to thank the coder who shared his html code with the internet. Yay for copying and pasting chunks of code straight from the inter-webs!)
So now I know how many fans I have, and I would like to say that I felt very loved (in retrospect) on October 26 when I had 10 viewers! What an immense feeling of purpose, to know that I could be reaching 8 people (I probably viewed my blog twice that day to make sure the slow rig internet actually got posts up).
As a side note, my average readership is about 4/day. First I think... 4 immediate family members + 1 fiancé = 5. hmmmm. But then I realize there must be some data-conservation going on. (Its good to be thinking about how our reckless data use may affect the future generations.) I think they are probably sharing the screen with each other as they read my blog. Great work guys.
I would also like to ensure all of you that the only information I receive is the number of views, and the language you viewed my blog in. I'm happy to say that my blog has been viewed in 4 languages! Since I only write in English, I don't know what my blog usually says in Russian or Spanish, but Holla! привет!
While I'm sure that google knows about your current relationship status and what you ate for lunch today, I chose not to pay for the upgraded version of analytics, so I don't get to know that. Maybe some day.
To all my loyal readers, a big "Thank you!" I couldn't have felt this loved without all of you, whoever you are. (Google knows, and thats all that matters.) Here's to reaching new heights of an average of 5 views/day! Then, on to the professional blogosphere!
