Week 4 overview
Not going to lie, this week was hard.
First off I got sick, and for about two days I couldn't leave my bed because sitting up made me so dizzy I would basically just fall back down. On top of a family emergency (which is good now thankfully).
Somehow I have gotten through all my work though, I got caught up. I have my paper to turn in Tuesday. Despite being a good writer, I get really nervous handing papers in. About to finish that up now. Psych I have to give a presentation in on Tuesday because I was out Thursday. So fingers crossed that that will bring my grade back up to above a 91. Yes, I know I know, 91 big whoop but I want it higher.
Hope everyone else is having fantastic spring semesters! Interact, tell me how you guys are feeling right now! What big things are you working on? Any big personal accomplishments you are proud of?
I’m currently revising an essay on American Sign Language and all I know is syntax is a thing and it is hard
College day 7:
Psychology: have I said that my laptop has saved my life? because it has. Seriously, if I did’t have it there is no way I would be able to keep up. Thankfully it is all on the reading and goes a little deeper on what we read.
My professor also noticed that I was the only one working on the group project she gave us in class and mentioned it to me at the end of class and that she appreciated me working with what I had and that she noticed what was going on. (also the fact that literally when presenting they had no clue what to say despite me going over and ~attempting~ to come up with and reexplain our experiment to them so they had a clue if they were to be asked) yeah that helped her realize too.
Comp 1: Was literally only less than 30 minutes? We got hit my a wicked snow storm and the roads were getting terrible so she let us go early. We had a small writing assignment and I read/summarized what I wrote and she enjoyed the set up and techniques I used in it, on top of the topic I chose. Fingers crossed. I have my first REAL paper due next week though and I am really excited because I picked something I am passionate about. AKA Why is language important.
Due to snow everything got canceled. Clubs and the ensembles I joined were canceled, thankfully. But I also enjoy going to them so its a little sad. Oh well what can you do? I plan to hopefully meet with the transfer office to make sure everything I am doing is on track for my plans.
College days 5 and 6
Hello. I am not sure how many days of college its been. I think 6?
Psych is going well. Somehow maintaining to keep a 100 in there. We will see how that continues. Also I don't know why I was trying to do paper notes at first but it wasn't working and today I used my laptop and I ACTUALLY STAYED ON TOP OF THE SLIDES WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT *smacks self*
Comp 1 I have a paper coming up and I have two really great topics to write about so I may just write two and pick my favorite one? They are not crazy long so like, what is the harm in writing on two things you are passionate on. Am I crazy? Possibly.
Stay tuned.
If anyone has the book Reading Critically and Writing Well 11th edition I need ur help
I put a Footloose reference in my exit essay for comp 1 and I'm so proud of myself.
(The topic was to argue if Christians should dance or not. Obviously as a dancer and a theatre major, mine was pro dancing).
Week 5/College days 9 and 10
Man, these psych presentations are going to kill me, even though I am slowly becoming calmer going up there. I think she has had us go up there 4 or 5 times so far. We were just given the outline for our midterm papers today so I am going to start looking at the requirements and start that probably this weekend. Grade went back up to a 95.38 so I am feeling good. Hopefully it keeps climbing up there again! I am going to try to get a week ahead of our readings so if I get sick again (fingers crossed I don’t) or if I am feeling lazy or just am busy I won’t have to worry about getting behind and having to cram it all. Having to get through 60 pages of reading for one class just in the book, on top of like three articles that were emailed to us in a day and a half because you were so sick you couldn’t move for three days IS NOT favorable.
Comp 1 I handed in my first papers first draft this week. Unfortunately, the two people who looked over it (we did peer reviews/edits) were not very helpful, so I am going to set up a meeting during my professor's office hours to see her thoughts on it. The final draft is due next Thursday.
Overall, good week. Feeling good. Grades for what I know of are good, I am going to catch up with my comp professor during office hours to see what mine is in there. But I am happy so far!
