E-Flirt With Cory Monteith (Company UK, March 2010)

We couldn't help clicking (and more) with super-talented 27-year-old Cory Monteith, who plays Finn in the smash-hit musical series Glee. Four words... Move. Over. Zac. Efron!

Company: So how are you finding your new heart-throb status?

CM: It's totally weird. I forget sometimes how things have changed. Then I go into a crowd and people start yelling at me.

C: Have you had many strange dealings with fans?

CM: There's been a lot! Someone made me a stuffed animal with a sweater on - that was pretty cute.

C: Not sure ‘cute' is the word we'd choose... Anyway, are you single?

CM: Erm yeah...

C: In that case, can we just say that you were showing some mighty fine form in your Glee shower scene ;) Were you nervous about getting your kit off?

CM: I guess I was when I thought about it, but then you forget that they're pointing a camera at you, and millions are going to be watching, and you do what you have to do - in my case, sing.

C: Would you ever serenade a girlfriend in real life?

CM: Ha Ha. Well I can now I have the ability! I'm not sure what I'd sing though.

C: Kings Of Leon's Sex On Fire always does the trick with us. What gets you hot under the collar?

CM: Intelligence, confidence and passion.

C: Anything that turns you off?

CM: A big ego, fakeness, things like that. I'm a nice, down-to-earth, Canadian boy - so that attitude doesn't go far with me.

C: Got any bad habits yourself?

CM: I leave the toilet seat up, and sometimes I swear when I get excited. But I think that's probably it.

C: Could be worse... Are you a romantic?

CM: Erm, I can be. I think me in romantic mode is pretty rare though. I'm in work mode and friend mode most of the time, so there's probably one day out of the year I'm in romantic mode.

C: Most disappointing! What would you do on that one day?

CM: I think there's something romantic about spontaneity so I'd put a girl on a plane and take her to France. Something over-the-top to show her how I feel.

C: OK, you've redeemed yourself a bit - what girl wouldn't be happy with a dirty weekend in France?

CM: Exactly!!!!!

C: And do you like a bit of naughty texting action?

CM: Ha ha, only if you know how to make sure that people can't see them on your phone. So let's put it this way, I'm a big fan of the apple iPhone passcode lock...

C: Nice answer; us too btw ;-) Ever had any dating disasters?

CM: Not that I can think of. I've gone on so few dates though - my love life has suffered because of my career. But I think the ones I have had, have all gone smoothly.

C: We'd happily help you ‘up' your date quota. Where should we go on our first date?

CM: For a meal with a wonderful view and intelligent conversation.

C: It's a date! How do you know when you're in love?

CM: I really don't know, I think Foreigner sang a whole bunch of songs about this in the eighties. I'll have to play those and get back to you...

C: Or we could just meet and put it to the test... Do you believe in love at first sight?

CM: Yes, I believe!

C: Sounds like you're speaking from experience?

CM: Well, yeah, I recently did a photo shoot with this beautiful Brazilian model and fell in love with her. I'm almost positive I will never see her again, so it's very sad. She's gone back to Brazil.

C: Ah, the curse of the long-distance relationship. Do you get to go back to Vancouver often?

CM: Quite often; I'm actually heading there tonight. It's a great place and people react differently to celebrities in Canada than in the US. They are a lot more conservative about running up to me and grabbing me!

C: Do you miss it?

CM: Yes, it's beautiful. I miss my very close friends and there's a wonderful social culture about it. I think we share that with Britain actually.

C: See, so much in common. What do you like about us British girls?

CM: I've only known a few but British girls seem a lot more forthright - and I really appreciate that. They'll tell you if they like you, they'll tell you if they don't.

C: FYI we like you. Could we rely on you making the first move though?

CM: Yeah, I'm confident like that. I was raised by my mother. I relate to women easier than I do to men.
