Five years before Paul Simon blended his style with South African mbaqanga or township style music, the amazing Lizzy Mercier Descloux brought her big ears and edgy postpunk funk style to Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas and concocted a blend that brought Nigerian highlife guitars, South Bronx hiphop and Jamaican dub in as players and partners.
