These individuals are still human and living, but have been infected by the virus that will eventually consume their bodies and their minds. They may have been infected through a bite, blood, or more rarely, through the air. The change in personality will begin to appear at any time between thirty minutes and seventy two hours after the exposure to the virus. Within this time, they will also begin to show sudden flu-like symptoms. After a couple of months, they will start showing signs of aggression, anger, lapse of judgement, and temporary lack of sanity.
The damned may attack those around them in unexpected episodes of rage. Should their infection be discovered, they will be exiled from their group. In extreme cases, they could even be killed on site.
The damned are primarily located in the downtown areas. Even with mass efforts to keep them contained, they have spread through the city and can be found wandering at any turn. The Pit, located in the outskirts, is a hub of activity for the damned in advanced stages of the virus. They flock to the mass grave, drawn to the decay they find there. Infected souls who have been found in civilian areas are sent there as well.
This is going to be a short, rather personal question (because I am a terribly impatient brat): Are there are more scientists living in the V.I.L.E bunker than the Momma Matthews? And if so, would it be possible to get the barest bones of what they are working on? I have a general idea for a character who could work as one, but I wanted to ask what the general canon for them is before I got too fired up for anything. Sorry for the spam!
hey inky! yes, there are more V.I.L.E. people than Mamma Matthews! In fact, V.I.L.E. people are free for creation even outside the canon list as long as their story can aid in the plot somehow! What they are working on at the moment, however, is trying to proceed with their experiment despite the turn it’s taken and, of course, trying to find immunes and experimenting on them.
