If you don't mind my asking, do you leave food offerings for the deities you work with? And if you do, is there anything you do with it afterwards if it's perishable? If it's non-perishable, what then? I'm new to deity work, and I have a few ideas for what to do with my food offerings, but im curious to see what others have to say.
*cracks knuckles* So! I get to talk about my favorite thing of all!
I do this thing I call "energy doubles", where I just kind of...visualize an exact copy of the food or drink I'd like to leave and scoot it onto an altar for a deity. I do this because I don't want to waste food.
Otherwise, I just offer the energy portion of the food and eat the physical portion after a bit.
I like food and I don't like wasting good food.
As for non-perishable offerings, they just kind of...exist forever on the altars? I have offering boxes for some of the deity altars I have, but for others, the offerings just get moved out of the bowls and exist on the altar. It's why my altars often look chaotic yet also like they make sense together.
I hope this helped give you a new (or at least interesting) perspective! Feel free to send any other questions about deity work, I love to talk to people about this stuff because I think it's really cool how people approach religion and the like!
Also, I love your username.
