The Athena IRIS Screenwriting Lab Submission Portal

The Athena Film Festival and IRIS are partnering to present the Athena IRIS Screenwriting Lab. The lab is a two-day writer's workshop that is open to women screenwriters with scripts that focus on strong female leaders.The lab gives women screenwriters the opportunity to work in one-on-one sessions with mentors in the industry. Athena and IRIS will invite four unproduced screenwriters to this writer's lab. The lab will take place February 9-10, 2017 during the 7th annual Athena Film Festival, at Barnard College, in New York City.

This is very late notice, but I found out about this last night. 

Who Can Apply:

Writers who identify as female.

Writers who have yet to have a feature-length narrative film produced.

Screenplays must include a strong female character in a leadership role at the center of the story.

We seek screenplays from all genres about women in all racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural groups.

Screenplays must be feature-length narrative scripts in English of no more than 120 pages. We will not consider TV, shorts, plays, book excerpts, or documentaries.

Scripts with more than one writer (both have to identity as female) can be considered.

As part of the submission process you will be asked to include a log line of the film and a synopsis.

I’m going to attempt to finish Sirens in time. Anyone else going to submit?

Day 22 of the 25 Days of December Christmas Challenge! Tuesday 22nd December...

Holistic Health: About 4 years ago, I completed a Biathlon that involved swimming and running. For years, I trained and competed in swimming competitions for my swimming club, Torridgeside, and for my school. I also competed in dance competitions and was a part of the sport teams at school, for netball and hockey, playing in all our matches.

Christmas: Most new things that I’ve done this season, have been fairly unintentional. I say this because, of course, we do new things everyday. You take a different road to the store, you style your hair differently, you try a new product or ingredient, you watch a new movie and so on. These decisions are fairly pre-planned. Today was my pappa’s birthday, which is why I’m posting this so late, I made him a chocolate cake with chocolate butter + raspberry whipped cream - a new recipe I’d never tried before (by the way, it was real good).

One – I can read silently without moving my mouth, because I is a growned up girl now, yup;

Two – I refuse to read my stories aloud

It's time for the first part of the last Head of Household competition!

Welcome to the first part of the final Head of Household competition! Much like ABC Family, IT’S HARRY POTTER WEEK IN THE BIG BROTHER HOUSE!!! And to celebrate, these last three competitions will be Harry Potter themed! You don’t have to have read the books to compete so don’t worry about that. 

This competition is called “Big Brother’s Chamber of Secrets”. Big Brother holds many secrets and it’s time for you to find them. You must search the Big Brother house high and low to uncover the Chamber of Secrets. The URL will look something like this: http://ourbigbrother4.tumblr.com/diaryroom It can be located anywhere in the Big Brother house. Once you find it, there will be secret instructions that you must follow to get to the end of this chamber and uncover the secrets the house holds. Are you ready?
