okay I know it’s been like a lifetime and a half, but the next chapter to the competent au is done over on discord, so I just need to get it put together and it’ll hopefully be up tomorrow, for any who’s curious

Ok I just thought of something kind of messed up: Competent Logan getting a kidnapped Virgil a pet cat. Hear me out he got the cat for two reasons 1) Because he knows that Virgil will be depressed/ go crazy if he doesn’t have some sort of company while Logan is t there and Logan doesn’t seem like he wants Virgil to be a broken shell and 2) he can use the cat as leverage for when he wants Virgil to behave like do this or the cat is hurt type thing.

How did you know what I had planned?? Lmao its’ not going to quite like that, but yes. Virgil does get a cat at one point (I have to add in Whiskers the cat! she’s baby) I don’t care for animal abuse at all, so nothing’s going to happen to her. It’ll be awhile until she shows up, Logan wants to enjoy his time with just him and Virgil for as long as he can

*Sees that Roman’s mom works at the hospital with Virgil’s mom* me: Aww- Also me: Imagine in the og au when Roman is in a coma how devastated Roman’s mom must be that she can’t help her son despite being a medical professional and her almost having breakdowns when she checks up in him for medical check ups. Or imagine how even more broken she would be in competent au when she not only lost a patient but her own son too. Me: stop it :(

You probably shouldn’t think about how many countless hours she spent at Roman’s bedside while he’s in his coma, waiting, hoping, for him to open his eyes. Maybe she takes up knitting while she sits there, to have something for her hands to do, to focus on, the steady motions helping calm her nerves... until Remus also ends up in the hospital and while it’s not as bad, she’s still struggling to keep it together.

Or in the competent au, if she’s working on the day that Roman dies, and she sees his body and just having a complete breakdown. She’d be a nervous wreck for weeks about letting her remaining child wander too far.

CO Virgil, does Logan ever talk about his family? His dad? His mom?

Virgil hummed softly, fingers tapping against his desk. “He has a little, but he doesn’t really go in to a lot of detail. His father works a lot, his mother stays at home. They’re both supportive of him, which is nice.” He leaned back in his seat, the chair creaking slightly from the movement. “He mentioned a brother once, in passing. Some big shot lawyer. There’s quite a big gap in their ages though, so I don’t get the feeling that they’re super close.” He could be wrong though, he never was a good judge on that sort of thing.

Competent Logan, what are you doing for Valentine’s Day?

“We’ll be staying in, of course.” Logan didn’t pause as he wrote down the last details for the day. “I’ve already gotten us a nice dinner arranged to be made for us here at the house so we don’t have to fight the... overly amorous couples out on this day. I’ve also selected a variety of movies to pick from for us to watch after our meal, and Virgil will be free to pick and choose at his leisure.” He’s also purchased a rather lovely necklace that he felt would look beautiful on his beloved, and he was more than eager to hand it over.

Competent AU Virgil, do you have a crush on anyone?

Virgil coughed, trying not to choke on his drink, face turning read. “What?? No! I don’t have a crush on Roman. Whoever told you that is lying!” He crossed his arms defensively.

“No one said anything about Roman.” Remy called from the other room, poking his head around the corner with a grin. Virgil sputtered incomprehensively, face turning red and he pulled his hood up over his head with a loud groan.

Father son bonding is so great! Playing ball, watching a game, learning to drive, getting rid of rivals in violent ways, gosh just got to love when a parent and child can do a fun activity together

Well ya know, when you’re son is just so much like you, the best way to bond is to teach him all you know! What’s a better way of saying ‘I love you’ than having a shared activity you both enjoy!
