nothing will ever fuck me up more than the whole shishikura reminding ouno of maria thing never being explored at all within the actual tetro series canon (to my knowledge at least). i would have even accepted like an offhanded comment from shishi being like 'Huh she always looked at me a certain way' or like 'She used to hover around me a lot' or something!!! anything bro.
an episode would have put a band-aid on my bleeding heart. any ouno content extra than the scraps of canon would make me cry in joy but specifically ounokura interaction is something i like daydream about. i can just envision how awkward they would have acted around each other if they'd gotten the chance to exist in the same space. barely any conversation, just an off-put shishikura trying to be friendly and make small talk meanwhile ounos just like
honest to god stuff like this is exactly why i write ouno to live in my rewrite. we basically got a pile of dust worth of ouno content in the main video part of the series that blew away in the wind as soon as she was dead. no deeper mourning her, no additional insight, we're just left with the Vague Tastes of a tragic character that could have been so much more. i know that tetros whole thing is that its supposed to feature a lot of tragedy and hopelessness but man it gets to a fucking point. sometimes a mother just deserves to get home to her daughter alive okay,,, sometimes a girl who's been through some absolute fucking horrors deserves to be able to live despite it,,
