Channel 4 (not entirely sure if that’s a thing elsewhere, but in the UK it’s a streaming service type thing) website hates me, and my complaint email may have been a tad dramatic:

I tried to enter my password, and it was incorrect. I knew it was the correct password, but I tried a few options, and eventually I just decided to reset it, because it kept saying it was incorrect. I reset the password, and it prompted me to log in, and I did. Or rather, I would have logged it, had it not told me that the password I had entered only seconds before was again, incorrect. It locked me out after this, and a few hours later I came back and tried to enter my passcode again, but oh, no, it was wrong again. Except it wasn't, but I wasn't allowed to log in. I just wanted to watch my programme, so I decided to make a new account with a new email, enter my password, and move on with my life. Account successfully created, I was told to log in. Can you guess what happened? Once again, I was told my password was incorrect. I knew this was wrong, because I'd put the password in less than a minute earlier, and because I wrote it down on a post-it note. I was desperate, so I reloaded the page several times, restarted my laptop, tried logging in several times, and every single time, without fail, I was told my password was wrong. This has driven me insane. I made out to watch a simple, 20 minute documentary for research, and instead I've spent half my day entering and re-entering the same password into my computer in the efforts that I would finally be allowed to simply use the website. I feel as if I'm a participant in a psychology experiment designed to drive people up the wall by seeing how long it takes them to crack. I may have repetitive strain injury just from typing the same seven letters again and again and again. I'm aware that whoever's being made to read this isn't responsible for my decline into insanity, but this has actually driven me to desperate measures. Please, for all that is good and Holy, get this fixed so I can just input my password and have it be called correct. All I want is for this to let me watch my documentary.

So everything here sucked for about 32 hours. Started with mysterious dripping in the basement, the last place you ever want dripping, let alone the mysterious kind. Closer examination showed it was the bathroom plumbing being blocked up or backflowing somehow. This led to leakage all over from what I think are pressure relief valves doing their very unfortunate job. The washer also had gross water backing up into it. The plumbing and/or septic tank had failed. So, that’s fun.

Thankfully, somehow, the horrible rat incident of the past few months caused us to move around a lot of our stuff which is living in storage in the basement too…other spots in the basement. Which completely coincidentally are outside the splash zone, thank god.

Anyway the entire day was eaten up by plumbing and repair people, one of whom was the epitome of creepy old boomer man making weird sexist remarks. Gross. I prefer the leaking toilet juice to that kind of thing so I just stayed in another part of the house. I am also at least partially convinced he was trying to break more stuff in the process of draining the septic tank in order to run up a bill, but I can’t prove it. The other folks were more normal.

We need more bleach and cleaning supplies probably but at least everything is draining where it is supposed to be draining now. The culprit is apparently pipes that are corroding on the inside and cost about 50 billion dollars to repair, so I’m not going to worry about that. It’s not my house anyway. I am focused on finding a way out of here.

I am not sure why I am posting about this other than the fact that I am extremely tired and having context later can be helpful in figuring out why I went through a particularly bad illness flare at a given time after the fact. I can already feel the fatigue from stress setting in so that’s just super.

I have a doctor’s appointment this week with the one who goes back and forth on whether I have EDS or fibromyalgia, despite having an EDS diagnosis from a geneticist. I don’t think I have fibro, I think she just wants to find a way to get rid of me or make less work out of helping me now that I have the actual EDS diagnosis. But I have to keep going for reasons and I don’t want to and recovering from the stress of this whole ordeal is going to make it that much harder to get through. She’ll see some real symptoms, at least!!

I just wanna move and have my stuff and my own bed and everything again and every time this cursed basement does Somethjng I feel like 5 years gets shaved off my life.

I am also trying to make art through this, but it is not the easiest thing.
