Listening to a podcast about complex personality types

I’ve finally realized that I am an empathetic, outgoing introvert.

MY ENTIRE LIFE MAKES SENSE NOW.

Wow wow wow.

I like being social, I like people, I’m friendly but there comes a point where social situations drain the life out of me and I have to leave no matter what is going on. Certain people and situations immediately drain me, and I absolutely detest small talk because there is so much more we could be discussing than mundane topics.

I need to learn how to conserve my energy in social situations and block the negative energy from certain people, because I can FEEL your energy. You can smile and laugh as much as you want, but I can feel your energy and let me tell you…I tend to absorb it, and if it’s negative it drains my battery.

I am a people pleaser. I like people and I like to make them happy. If I’m in a situation with people that annoy me, I can’t even hide my nasty mood. Sometimes I am withdrawn and inexplicably bitchy, which I’m sure if confusing especially for loved ones. I AM NOT CRAZY. My family has always tip toed around me and tried to change me, so I am pleased to know that I have a complex personality type AND I AM NOT ALONE. I'm not moody, I am still happy I just withdraw when my energy levels are low. I've always been told that I'm moody! It's so not the case, it is energy levels.

I guess sometimes I wish I wasnt so complex like I was easier to connect with and to understand. It seems like people break the friends field but noone goes any deeper than that. Its not something I can change but it kind of sucks.
