Edits made to Photo Op!

Chapters 14 and 15 have new content and edits. If you haven't already, read from the beginning here. Photo Op is a 200k+ word verse featuring celebrity Jensen and small town Jared, based in Texas, with a whole lotta heart.

This is watercolor art I created for the folks on my Patreon page, where folks can choose from a variety of tiers to support the work I do writing fic. :)

My car needs a bunch of repairs... 

My car is a 2003 Honda with 193,000 miles on it. I bought it 5 years ago when it had 134,000 miles on it, and it has never failed me. I call him Sam. He’s the man of my dreams. 

I haven’t needed to do repairs since about 2016. A very generous reader at that time gave me the money to cover the cost of new brakes. 

This year, I’m up against new brakes, new shocks, new tires, and a new part related to the muffler (I’m not a mechanic, I just write one in fic). This was the receipt for 1 new brake pad set and 2 new front rotors. 

I’m working part-time because of my transplant/liver issues, RA flare ups, and struggles with depression/anxiety. So money is super tight. My dad lost his job, then retired, and I’m helping with as much as I can on what I make. But there was no way I would have been able to do this for Sam without the help of y’all. 

Shout out of sincerest gratitude to the folks on Patreon and to y’all here who spread the word about my writing. The money I made illustrating for a zine, plus this month’s Patreon, went directly to fixing the front brakes. 

Sam needs about $500.00 more in repairs, and my dad is buying 2/4 new tires for my birthday present. Any money from Patreon in the next three months will go straight to helping Sam live his best life, because I really need him. This is how I get to my transplant appointments, my imaging appointments, therapy, PT, OT, acupuncture, the pharmacy, etc. 

And even though he’s an old guy, Sam has a few years in him left. If you’d like to help Sam and myself, I have a Patreon and/or PayPal. Reblogs help. Let your friends in fandom know about the 1.1 million words I have published on AO3.

Hello there! 

I’m Cal and I write fic! My main fandom is SPN and my two pairings are Sam/Dean + J2. I’ve uploaded 1.8 million words to AO3 since 2013. 

I’m reaching out as things with my health continue to be quite complicated. I have hepatic adenomatosis, which is the presence of more than 20 (benign for now) tumors on my liver. I’ve been in and out of the hospital since December 2017. After my first major surgery in July 2018, I haven’t been able to return to work full-time. A transplant is inevitable, my team is just not sure when. There are a few things my insurance doesn’t cover, like parking costs at my transplant hospital/doctors’ offices and acupuncture. I also have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, RA, and fibro, because I’m that awesome. XD

Patrons on Patreon help me afford utilities, groceries, car insurance, parking, and acupuncture. I won’t be back at work full-time for the foreseeable future, so any support on Patreon is incredibly appreciated.

As a way of showing my appreciation and gratitude to Patrons, I post a bonus fic (current one is “Don’t Forget the B-Side,” J2 AU set in Portland) and artwork. At the $20 tier, Patrons get to vote on what I work on next, what I incorporate into stories, and get access to unpublished fic/fic before it’s posted on AO3. B-Side has 40,000 words to it so far and has a Nat King Cole soundtrack to it. I just put up the newest Punzel timestamp for Patrons at all tiers to read a day early.

I’m still updating things on AO3, still participating in the SPN J2 Big Bang, and still invested in my corner of fandom. I appreciate a boost while I’m on this transplant journey. I also greatly appreciate a reblog or a visit to my Patreon page.
