Have you ever looked at a cosmo up close? There are little stars inside!!!
The cosmo is a composite flower. The outer purple portions are ray florets and the inner yellow section are disk florets. The stars in the very center are disk florets that haven’t opened yet.
Grawesome!

The sunflower is a member of the composite family of plants. This family is unique, because each thing an ordinary person would recognise as a "flower" (called an inflorescence) is composed of lots of little actual flowers, called disk and ray florets. Below is a diagram that shows how these are positioned on the inflorescence:
The composites are one of the largest families of plants, rivalled only by the orchids (the exact number of extant species in either family is unknown). They're incredibly diverse, including among others sunflowers, daisies, dandelions, thistles, lettuce, chamomile, and artichokes.
White Clover (Trifolium repens) is part of the legume family along with peas and beans. Each flower head is a composite of several tiny individual flowers.
