This is the redo of my composite portrait which I just finished today during A Block. You probably can’t tell, but the left side of my face is actually made up of different parts of portraits I found online. They all fit my face pretty well. This photoshop shows me painting myself. It’s really hard to describe with words. I guess this portrait kinda shows my personality as a painter. I’m pretty satisfied with it. The background of this portrait is from Da Vinci’s painting Monalisa. He is one of my favorite artists. The process of making this piece was incredibly fun; I enjoyed doing this assignment very much.

Fusion: Double exposures can blend two or more images together to create a new visual language. This can convey the notion of association, connection or interweaving between subjects. By fusing different image elements, double exposures can convey the idea of wholeness, harmony and integration.

Expressing emotions and ideas: double exposures can be used to express feelings, emotions or ideas. By layering different images on top of each other, a unique atmosphere and emotional expression can be created. This superimposition can visually convey depth, complexity and ambivalence, making the viewer think and emotionally resonate.

Multiple Exposure: Using the multiple exposure technique, the same image can be repeatedly superimposed on the same image, creating an illusion or a repetitive theme. This technique can express the passage of time, repetitive cycles, the depth of memory or the concept of multiple layers.

Really? Another Redo of the Composite Self-Portrait

Ok, apparently, Todd thinks my last self-portrait is not crazy enough. He told me that the painting parts fit too well with the photo so it doesn't look like collage (but according to him everything after the big bang is collage ㄟ( ▔, ▔ )ㄏ ). Well, guess I have to do another composite self-portrait. This time, every painting piece I chose was done by Van Gogh, which I personally think is definitely crazy and not realistic. When I showed this to Todd a few days ago, he thought that this is still not crazy enough! My selfie still looked photographic. So, I changed my skin color to purple and hoped it would meet his expectation. But no, he still thinks it’s too realistic. 

Now this morning, I covered my entire face with Van Gogh’s painting. You can barely see my actual face now. I literally look like Jubaka from Star Wars. Hopefully this time my self-portrait is crazy enough for Todd.
