Who: I invited my friend to be my model and help me with the photoshoot.
Why/what: I studied the works of three artists: Dr Christian Thompson AO, Polixeni Papapetrou, and David Rosetzky, to help me refine my final end-of-term art project. These three artists have successfully brought the vitality of flowers and individuals to life through their collision. Similarly, I aim to fulfil my expectations for the final art project by showcasing the significance and changes of flowers and individuals in the rich tapestry of life and throughout history. I want to view historical figures and culture from the perspective of modern individuals.
How: Through the photographs, one can sense the influence of the long river of history on society and how people in the modern world perceive and feel about historical culture. For centuries, we have lost a significant amount of our cultural heritage. I want to use this approach to awaken the most profound memories within people and encourage them to pay more attention to the critical parts that are on the verge of being lost, regardless of the aspect. We should know its origins, history, and significance. Additionally, it can allow those interested in this field to understand it better.
In the meantime, I will try different lighting to pick the right one for my artwork.
When: Next week, I found a studio with a traditional Chinese style to conduct the shoot. Using flowers as a form of expression, I aim to showcase the vitality and richness of the characters.
