if i chose to take psychology as my major, does it mean that i dont have to do math then since it's in the category of bachelor of science?
If you're going to be majoring in Psychology, but in the Science program, you will still have to take some sort of math. Math is a requirement for the Bachelor of Science program, you will need one 100-level calculus course (MATH 100, 102, 104, 180, 184, or 120) and an additional 6 credits from Math, Stat or Cpsc.
Please read "Computational Sciences" for more information!

If you major in Psychology, but in Arts, I don't believe you will need math. But Arts students still need some science credits, so you might end up deciding to take math or have some science courses that will require a bit of math!

Because of the duality of Psychology at UBC, some courses in Psychology are only counted as Arts and some only as Science, you will need to read their descriptions to find out, but if you take all Science Psychology courses then I don't think you will have to do anymore science courses if you're in Arts (as long as you have the min. amount of science credits covered with those Psych courses).
