I taught this lesson on my final week in GPP to my year 4 class. I showed them a youtube video of Glee performing the hand jive (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StASsCWGMek)
I then asked them to perform the dance. When they could not we decided that breaking down the dance (algorithm) into smaller chunks (decomposition) would be easier.
I then let them work in groups to come up with their own algorithms for a dance and to perform each others to see if they had successfully decomposition their algorithm.
