On October 3rd, the New York fashion flock arrived in droves to celebrate the launch of Comstock & Co. by Robert Comstock at a cocktail event at Bloomingdales 59th Street store.
Retail executives and veteran fashion editors including Terry Lundgren, CEO, Chairman of the Board, President and Director at Macy’s Inc., Karen Alberg and Stu Nifossi of MR magazine, Jean Palmieri and Arnie Karr of Women’s Wear Daily and Ivan Shaw of Vogue congratulated Comstock personally with heartfelt handshakes and hugs.
Also a highlight was a special appearance by a live falcon, compliments of The Peregrine Fund, one of the hosts of the event. Many guests and shoppers stopped to be photographed with the stunning grey and white-flecked bird.
Nomadic Expeditions, also a host of the event, held an exciting drawing for a complimentary journey to Mongolia led by Robert Comstock himself.
The exclusive Comstock & Co. by Robert Comstock concept shop at Bloomingdales 59th Street includes mahogany and steel fixtures, and features an 8 foot bronze statue of a falcon in the gallery-like setting. Photographs from Mongolia and other exotic locales from Comstock’s personal adventure travels are framed in driftwood and oversized images of the current Fall collection frame the space.
The collection’s contemporary design and superb styling reflect the Robert Comstock customer: a man who relishes his individuality, who is self-confident and unassumingly elegant in his casual style. The line was inspired by Comstock’s lifelong passion for conservation and for adventure travel.
Comstock & Co. is also available at Bloomingdales locations including Atlanta, GA’s Lenox Square, Boston MA’s Chestnut Hill, New York, NY’s Flagship 59th Street, Riverside, NJ’s Bergen Shops at Riverside Sand Francisco, CA’s San Francisco Centre and Sherman Oaks, CA’s Fashion Square.
