Inktober day 1

I'm joining Inktober for the 3rd time this year. And this year will be all colour pencil drawings. I'll try to expand my skills on this very traditional medium (they say Leonardo Da Vinci made the first pencil) and play around in my WIP-world at the same time.

I started out with a little warm up a couple of days before. It's really been ages since I just scrabled colours to paper like this, so I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.

Dude, drawing grumpy old men isn't easy. So today the real thing started and the first promt was "Ring". And in my WIP there's only one ring of importance, and that's Eugène's ring:

I'm more unsurtain about what to draw tomorrow, but I'm sure I'll come up with something by then.

@bookishdiplodocus told me about this art shop sale in town, and I thought this was my chance to re-equip my pencil case. I've been mixing red, yellow and blue for too long now. Desperatly in need of more colours I went to the store. Picking pencils, I just could not remember why I haven't drawn in a while.

So today I have reminded myself that I'm a better writer then drawer. Back on art school, my teacher came to my desk after an exam and smacked the paper on the table, saying quit angry: "Therese, you can't write up your grade anymore." I was a bit suprised. But, what she ment to say was, that she was disappointed about my drawing, after she'd read my description of it.

What can I say...? I'll not draw in a while I guess x'D

My best achievement of this year 2017 and of my career so far, is the realization of the portrait of HRH Henri, Count of Paris. This is the only painted picture of him. I feel blessed and privileged he agreed to pose for his portrait.
