The woman didn’t say anything at first, just glancing at the Operator in a suddenly rather cold way. Ideals were cheap? Not all of them. The cynical look was familiar to her, but ideals were far beyond cheap to some people. Reunion had ideals that drove them insane. Cheap... No, cheap things did not make people go riot and create a whole revolution. Sokolova couldn’t say what Count meant exactly, but there was judgement in her eyes before it disappeared as she turned her face to look forward. 

Thankfully, her clothes were hiding her eyes and the majority of her body. All to not show her face, not make her presence known, not allow anyone to see who was this. The only ones who knew how Doctor looked were those of Rhodes Island and high figures. Ch’en was one of them. Right now, the one next to her couldn’t see her face and her eyes but could only hear silence before she laughed. 

“Easy there, cowboy, speaking of ideals like that as if you forget that such things drive people to destroy everything on their way,” Sokolova crossed her arms as she specifically chuckled. Her eyes were cold beneath her hoodie. These clothes were perfect to hide away everything there was about her: her gender, her face, her body type, anything. It was perfect, she liked it, but then again, it reminded Zarina that she didn’t know who she was. Even now. “Actually, if we’re looking at it this way: ideals can be cheap, but that’s exactly why they’re so strong. They’re strong in numbers. People led by certain ideals will not back down from them.” 

Sokolova thought about their enemies once again. The Infected deserved a better life, but Reunion was getting unnecessary violent in some ways that could lead to madness and chaos only. Doctor didn’t give a single f*ck about some people, but if all will be Infected - they will all die. That’s why people needed to change their worldviews, but just one person could not do that. It was a twisted time in their life. Infected had the right to be angry, she couldn’t blame them. But then again, she couldn’t allow Reunion to take over.

“I’m cooking, of course. No one understands my diet, so I’m trying to make something for myself. Don’t tell Amiya or Kal’tsit, they’ll drag me out,” Zarina was all too nonchalant and laid-back while speaking to the majority of the Operators. New or old, she treated them as if they were friends until they asked not to do so. Open with a big smile, she continued to be a doctor that many people did not expect to meet with how she building up strategies. The amnesia did a big hit on her, erasing everything besides basic knowledge, skillset, and some habits, but whos he was or what she was - all empty, for an unknown period of time. However, it seemed that some people knew who she was before but refused to say it, leaving Sokolova to shrug and just sigh. “Would you like pancakes with some sanity poti--- syrup? Actually, no, I only made enough for myself.” The atrocity that was her food was a legend in Rhodes Island by now.

It’s hard to gauge exactly when it was that they had both gotten comfortable enough with each other. His flames of vengeance barely stung her now, though of course there were times when he would forget himself and they’d need to spend time away from the other until it was ‘safe’ to be near again. 

Even so, both Avenger and Luvia still had a strange sort of fondness for each other, whether it be him staying with her in her office until late at night, helping her with documents, or she’d be sitting in his little cafe, talking over the tea he’s prepared for her. 

Such as tonight. It’s near what he deems to be closing time, but she’s still stirring her tea, watching the man as he talks to the other Servants who had stopped by earlier, even giving one of the younger ones a pat on the head. 

She smiled at that, and took a sip to hide it. He’ll come over to her when he was done, only a few more things left for him to do. Which was perfectly fine for her. It gave her time to double check if the gift she’s gotten him has suffered any incident from how long she’s been waiting.

Of course not. As if she’d ever give anyone anything when it’s less than perfect. Who do you think she is? Some pauper? Ha!

Finally, he’s done seeing them off and now striding over to her, and takes his seat, a steaming cup in his own hands. They have some small talk about their respective days (his Master had told him to take it easy today, no missions for him and how she pretty much spent it by reading some of her research tomes that she had brought along with her).

“And uhm...” Luvia fidgeted a bit, her spoon clinking loudly around her (almost empty) teacup. “I...brought you...us...something for tonight.” Reaching down beneath the table, she pulls up a small basket holding a wine bottle and two glasses with blue and green bows tied around the stems. Still in the basket is a box elegantly wrapped in green paper, topped off with a blue and white bow.

“Since...since it’s Valentine’s Day, you know?”
