So hey I should probably post some of my fave pictures of this cosplay! Photos are from Rick Drew and Dad Egbert . In the Maryam family photo, I’m Dolorosa, @kingofthepleasantpatch is Porrim, and @acrylicbanter is Kanaya. I don’t know Dad’s tumblr (or if he even has one), but I did get a picture with the elusive father figure, and I am so proud. HUGE shout-out to @yaexrae for posting all of her tutorials (both those related to Dolorosa specifically and her general horn making ones), without which, this cosplay wouldn’t exist. Yay for the hella awesome lighting provided during the masquerade, too! Hopefully I can add fangs the next time I take this out (can’t wait for ACEN and AMW)!

Red Strings of Fate

It’s cool when I think about how cons bring people from all over, together. Places my con family and I are from: Alabama Tennessee Georgia Florida Mississippi South Carolina and even Japan!

My extended con family are even more states! Granted, most of us are from the south, but still, it’s crazy how going to conventions can bring together people who would have most likely never met otherwise. I met my boyfriend at AWA in 2009, in fact, I’m pretty sure all but one of the couples in the con family met at cons. Conventions are great, ok?
