Bored. That was what Hannah felt right now, she was in a public space so she couldn’t even do what she’d normally do to entertain herself. Children screamed, shouted, whooped and hollered as they charged from place to place, all having the money to play the vast amount of games ready for them.
Not her. She was here because her father couldn’t get a babysitter, he’d gotten special permission to bring her but he’d been called into a more restricted section which she wasn’t allowed to follow. So she’d been left with a security bot who clearly wasn’t paying attention as they tried to use the processing power to keep children out of areas they shouldn’t be.
With a sigh Hannah rested her chin on her hand, maybe Princess Blossom in her Daddy’s bedtime stories had to deal with something like this when the king was in important meetings....
The five dollars she’d been given was enough for snacks, her Daddy didn’t have enough extra for games. Hannah understood of course, being a grown up was hard! You had all this stuff to pay for and had to do difficult jobs to get the money... sometimes you couldn’t spend it on games.
Even if your child was going to be very very bored.
