Comics: From Concept to Completion. How do YOU do it?
Hello. I am currently working on my comic called Valentine & Co. I have been making comics (on scrap sheets of paper, old notebooks, and for the college newspaper) for a long time. However, this is the first time I attempt a professional-grade comic.
My approach to making comics is the following:
Idea/Concept
Brainstorm
Organize ideas
Write/edit script
Thumbnails/layouts
Pencils
Inks
Colors/Tones (Still debating if I should go full color or not)
Coloring/Lettering in Photoshop
Publish online/print (Still debating. Both?)
I have been told this is just too much, but I think this works for me. Now, my question is, how do you do it? What is your process like? Does it look anything like this? I am curious as to what your process is like.
