“I’m your friend, of course I care!”
“We--we’re friends?” Lucinda blinked in surprise.
She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at the comment. How ironic, the Gryffindor and the Slytherin. They weren’t meant to be friends and yet....Well Lily had moved past that, moved out of Hogwarts. And Lucinda was starting to doubt whether House loyalty was everything. She supposed she would see once the school year started again.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to be Lily’s friend. She just would never admit it to herself. And she hadn’t thought that the red head would also consider her a friend. She had so few of those it seemed lately.
