Everyone is always saying that to get stuff done you need to get out of your comfort zone, as if comfort zones are these evil unnecessary things that just drag us down. But comfort zones can be the place you feel comfortable enough to do new stuff, too. you like staying in on saturday nights because social obligations make you sweat? try a new hobby or craft of write a lame poem that only you will see during that time. you pick reading harry potter fanfiction over a new book because it makes you feel less alone to return to characters that you already know you love? hey, that’s cool, try writing your own or making fan art or cosplaying or dedicating a playlist to your fave. You want to make new friends (online or otherwise) but you really only talk to one other person on a regular basis? you know what makes making new friends easier? doing so with an old friend in tow.
stop perpetuating the idea that comfort zones are some toxic barrier to getting stuff done in your life. they’re called comfort zones for a reason. You don’t need to leave your comfort zone behind to prove you’re some adventurous person. you just need to make that comfort zone your bitch.
