So I'm a builder. I build things, and I found a forum where people request and/or hire builders. I've joined a few projects that never even got off the ground, but this one was mostly happening.

It was a high school rp server with a futuristic theme. I dont play rp servers, but damn, can I sure place some blocks. I ended up being THE most active and responsive person working on the server, which was sad, because I'm also almost positive I was the oldest person involved, no one actually gave out ages but they seemed baffled when I said I got a full time job and wouldnt be as active.

I did the math... I did over 50% of the buildings needed by myself. That's a LOT. I built the spawn, I didnt get pictures of it because the owner was supposed to come in and add all the signage, and a lot of plugin-related features like crates, but that was the last thing I made. He told me to stop building because they were going to start working on the trailer.

Radio silence for almost 3 months. No one spoke. No new announcements. Last night, I was updating my own server to 1.18, and... there were people on that server! Maybe it started and no one said anything? I click on it and...

And it's nothing.

It's just... a regular vanilla 1.18 world, brand new, with a group of people playing on it.

Everything is gone.

My running theory is that the guy running it realized how much work it would actually take to run and maintain a server like that, and either gave the IP to someone else, or the host he was using sold it to someone else after the original owner cancelled.

So when I say the server never came to be... yeah. It just didnt happen.

I'm an oldschool player, right? I started around 1.4, and was heavily into mods come 1.5. In my opinion, based on personal modding experience, 1.6.4 was the HEIGHT of the modding era. SO MANY GOOD MODS, right?
