I liked the part with the pigskin.
I can't say that the subject matter was all too interesting to me, but it was well presented and didn't feel overly dramatised. Will Smith and Gugu Mbatha-Raw gave particularly great performances. The story kept its focus on Dr. Omalu, without losing sight of the broader issue at hand and delving into irrelevant interpersonal drama territory.
I don't know the details of the real life events this is based on, or how accurate the depiction was, but there didn't appear to be anything too egregious to be true. I'd like to think some meaningful change came of the findings, but Concussion stopped short of mentioning anything concrete.
So, knowing how much money people stand to make off it, I assume these guys are still running into each other in pursuit of a ball, developing incurable traumatic brain injuries so their owners can sell thirty second advertising slots for seven million US dollars a pop.
An alright drama, elevated out of mediocrity by solid performances.

ok so my ma wanted to watch concussion and it was actually....really good? kinda sad. ‘cause I looked up the people as the movie went on, the football players that died. kinda made it sink in a little more that this was some real shit. some recent shit.
will smith’s accent was kinda silly though. but the movie was very good, I was able to look past it.
