I don't really like the way NuTrek Starships look. The touch screens seem very impractical, and I like how in SNW they showed this (I forget what episode but it was S1) with a console next to Spock going haywire where the screen controls were flickering in and out. At least if you had a keyboard or buttons and knobs you'd be able to make some use of the station with flickering power, but with the screen blacking out, it's completely useless.

“What is up with all of these kid show creators (Chris Sonnenburg, Thomas Astruc, Noelle Stevenson, etc) being grown adults, but act so immature and toxic??? Not to mention that they tend to ruin their shows with their creator's pets, shuts out any criticism that they get, and also argues with teens and children from their respective fandoms. Look, I understand that there are toxic people in the fandom who are no better and do stress them out sometimes. 

You shouldn’t get whiny and uppity about a show made for kids and you shouldn’t tell a creator (nor anyone else for that matter) to kys just because they aren’t giving you everything that you want from THEIR show, but that doesn’t mean creators like these 3 are innocent either. There’s a difference between being whiny, hateful and/or entitled, and there’s constructive criticism. If your a toxic person or your show’s bad or inconsistent, your going to get criticism and people have that right to give it. That doesn’t mean that the person giving the criticism is bad or immature ALL the time, that’s just life and that’s part of being a creator.”

“Considering the amount of porn that the Miraculous Ladybug fandom has produced, I highly doubt that all the people who complained about the naked Marinette in Comic 3 being sexist actually REALLY care about it being sexist (heck, I bet the people who complain the loudest actually wrote and/or read the most Marinette porn). They are likely complaining for the sake of complaining and for the sake of looking like a moral person.”

I'm the confessor for 1117 and I can admit when I'm wrong...

Touch screens were stupid when the 90s shows did it, too. I just genuinely haven't watched any of them in years and forgot, but oddly enough was rewatching TNG last night and had an are you fucking with me moment when I realized that. But I also watch TNG originally before touchscreens were really a big deal so it may be time bias that makes people forget as when those shows first dropped no one really knew all the folly's of touch screens yet.

My main point stands that touch screens are asking for trouble on ships like this and the problem with NuTrek is that two of the shows and the movies if you count Kelvin as NuTrek are set when they shouldn't have touch screens anyway.
