Though definitely nowhere near as bad "Kirk drift" and the mischaracterization of the DS9 characters, I think some parts of fandom get too focused on the whole "Vulcan Marinah" part of T'Lyn's character. They forget the joke is that T'Lyn is only a Mariner by Vulcan standards, the same way Ma'ah is only Boimler by Klingon standards. But I think fandom has been more accepting of Ma'ah's character evolving beyond "Klingon Boimler" because he's not Starfleet and has less screentime than T'Lyn so there's less comparison between the two than there are the female characters.
Don't get me wrong, I definitely see why T'Lyn and Mariner get along so well, but they have their differences which is why it gets so annoying that so-called T'Lyn fans get frustrated T'Lyn doesn't know how to fight or mischaracterize her as being hyperfocused on Boimler. (They have a good friendship, but T'Lyn's closest friend is Tendi, not him.) Sometimes the paranoid part of me wonders that some people are fixated on "Vulcan Marinah" because they want to T'Lyn to replace real Mariner or wish she had been one of the female leads from the start instead of Beckett.
